Someone said it helps to have photos in threads to know who is who.
Could there be a way for ilx to host a small photo of yourself that would be placed next to your name?

Also: NO. That would be the start of the slide towards things looking like message boards, and would probably mean I wouldn't read it in work. ILX is (mostly) text-only, and should stay that way.

Agreed - a minimalist interface is the way forward. Plus, what with email addresses next to names we could end up with a few scary stalker scenarios.

Absolutely. However, we can opt to have links to posters' profiles showing as standard (as I do), and we could all put pics of ourselves on said profiles (as I have). That leaves you one click from the pic you want, without having to load pics hundreds of times.
