S/D, RFI: apparent couples who aren't couples

Looking for a typology here, with a fairly open field. Marriages blancs.
Pairs where one person is clearly pining for the other but it's unrequited or otherwise asymmetrical. Former couples that continue to work together. Also apparently platonic partnerships, even if they may have sublimated tension.

Leonard and Virginia Woolf. Fleetwood Mac. Eurythmics. White Stripes. Clara Schumann and Johannes Brahms. Moonlighting. Whatever.

Is there a difference between "apparent couples" and "friends"?

Lotte Lenya and Kurt Weill?

is this about projecting romance on platonic friends? i am not down with that. it's hard enough to maintain friendships as it is.
