to be fair, the answer is yes, the Dems will absolutely work with you and Schumer will give you everything you want if he's allowed to name a bathroom after Jeff Flake

I have caterers on retainer for the impending shindig celebrating McConnell's blessed demise. It's going to be quite a time.

In his defense, McConnell is only a man doing his job as he thinks it ought to be done to the best of his ability.

It should be noted that this puts him squarely in the company of Jefferson Davis, Martin Shkreli, Albert Speer, and Maggie Thatcher. And it's a company he wouldn't much mind being associated with.

five months pass...

The Washington Post reports:

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) on Wednesday kicked off his 2020 reelection bid with a video highlighting his successful effort to block President Obama’s Supreme Court nominee, Merrick Garland — a move that helped reshape the court and over which Democrats are still fuming.

The video also includes footage of President Trump hailing McConnell as a “rock-ribbed Kentucky leader” and “one of the most powerful men in the world.” The two Republicans have struck a fragile alliance despite their at times adversarial relationship.

Dude has definitely been getting some type of IV therapy for something.

My dad's hands the last couple of years of his life when he was on dialysis looked like that.

He'll die in office, button-bursting proud of himself to his dying breath that he wielded power more ruthlessly than any Senate Leader in history, surpassing even Lyndon Johnson for pure ball-busting. Every horrifying, retrograde, rights-killing, oligarchy-sustaining SCOTUS decision for the next 25 years will have a little footnote thanking Mitch McConnell for making it happen. He'll die a happy man, the motherfucking bastard.

Judging by this recent photographic evidence, he may have already died a happy man some time ago.

Almost worth taking a trip to Kentucky in the not too distant future to spit on his grave
