saw a few episodes of this when I was a kid, it seemed like an interesting historical show but I was more into Gilligan’s Island

I kinda look like Bob Denver on Dobie

I saw a few episodes by happenstance when it was on UHF in the '80s (?). Denver ran away with the show as beatnik Maynard G Krebs.

The 'plain' girl who pines after Dobie became a crusading lesbian legislator in California.

And Warren Beatty shows up as a glam preppie villain at some point.

Patty Duke was another one of the shows from that era that I didnt see much of but always wondered about

I watched this when it was new. 1962 or thereabouts as an 8 year old kid. At that age I considered that Maynard G. Krebs was the whole show and when he was offscreen the show was worthless. I'd probably still think so.

I like how Maynard panics whenever he hears someone say the word "work".

I don’t like this show but Leave It To Beaver is pretty damn funny (asshole dad character aside)
