So, _Nothing But Trouble_, then

Mandee, bless her heart, expressed her (admittedly perverse) appreciation for this film on an IM chat tonight, and so inadvertantly coerced a bunch of us into turning it on, or maybe it was just me. I had music playing over it but the visuals were enough to befuddle me. So I went to the IMDB and the comments page for it is the definition of split opinions. Please vent your thoughts on this -- and hold nothing back. It is Tupac's film debut, among other things.

I have not seen this film but my opinion must be that it is no good.

I can't talk about it... too painful!

Why is it perverse that I enjoy this film? I mean, Ned, did you even get to the part with the GIANT BABIES?

Mandee, Monday, 2 December 2002 05:51 (twenty-one years ago) link

tupac needs a bullet

Ned, did you even get to the part with the GIANT BABIES?

I did indeed. I cried.

I really like this movie.

Really.

By coincidence, it was on TV last night, and I tried to explain to my roommate what it was about. Luckily, we turned it on just in time to see the judge send the four party-yuppies into Mr. Bonestripper.

She was not amused.

Plus, how can you NOT like a movie that features DIGITAL UNDERGROUND?

J (Jay), Monday, 2 December 2002 23:53 (twenty-one years ago) link

John Candy is in it. So, Proven by science, it is a good movie.

this movie is fucked up in the extreme and was made for an audience of approximately like... 10-15 people, i'm one of them

Literally couldn't make it through this film. Aykroyd is a weird one

I have no idea what this is, but from this thread I learn we have Tupac, Giant Babies, a character named Mr Bonestripper, John Candy and an Aykroyd. Compelling to say the least

when I was a kid this movie was known among my cohort for one thing and one thing alone: the Scene With Dan Aykroyd's Nose. A truly cursed image I will never forget.

the hot dog scene was difficult to get through

I'm afraid this thread has sold the movie short:

Peter Aykroyd ... Mike the Doorman

I feel like we get one of these critically-savaged, ill-conceived all-star comedy bombs that turns out to develop a cult following about once per decade. Death to Smoochy would be another; I'm struggling to think of more, though I'm certain they exist...

Anyway, this one looked unwatchable to me even when I was at the age where I enjoyed things like Who's Harry Crumb and Three Amigos.
