Hey, somebody had to ask.

j.lu (j.lu), Friday, 13 December 2002 20:19 (twenty-three years ago)

Oh, you want my opinion? Major classic on Craig Wedren; major, major dud on Michael Stipe.

j.lu (j.lu), Friday, 13 December 2002 20:19 (twenty-three years ago)

classic

donut bitch (donut), Friday, 13 December 2002 20:24 (twenty-three years ago)

dud on me (though i guess i've spent > 2 years of my life shaving it every day). although my hair is short enough that it seems to get described as shaved quite often, anyway.

toby (tsg20), Friday, 13 December 2002 20:24 (twenty-three years ago)

are you TRYING to upset me? i mean, even if you are going bald, a little short fuzzyness a la alan mcgee is preferable to the bald look. strangely, though, the darker the skin the more acceptible baldness is, from a purely aesthetic point of view. shiny whiteness screams worm or vampire, while shiny brownness does not have the same icky associations.

am i secretly racist? i'm starting to worry, because all sorts of things i find totally unacceptible on white boys, i find totally acceptible on black boys. do i have a problem?

kate, Friday, 13 December 2002 20:25 (twenty-three years ago)

No, Kate I totally agree with you!!

Sean (Sean), Friday, 13 December 2002 20:51 (twenty-three years ago)

it's a question of aesthetics, isn't it?

paintings on bob ross black gesso are just different than those painted on standard michaelangelo egg tempra. so of course things framed by dark coloured skin look different than light...

or maybe it's a question of association, that i see a white man with shaved head, automatically think "skinhead" therefore asshole, but there are no such assocations with black men.

kate, Friday, 13 December 2002 20:58 (twenty-three years ago)

Yeah, shiny baldness is kind of hit-or-miss, depending on the guy. Fuzzy tennis-ball head is better.

Jen (nstop), Friday, 13 December 2002 21:00 (twenty-three years ago)

i shaved my head for two years, never letting it get longer than a "number 2" razor. there's something wonderful about being acutely aware of your skull and its topography and various imperfections. that level of awareness of my humanity and mortality always made me unbelievably self-confident and er ... unbelievably horny.

therefore classic.

fields of salmon (fieldsofsalmon), Friday, 13 December 2002 21:12 (twenty-three years ago)

i just did this.

anthony easton (anthony), Friday, 13 December 2002 21:33 (twenty-three years ago)

why, antony, why? i loved yer kinky lumberjack look. this upsets me so...

kate, Friday, 13 December 2002 21:37 (twenty-three years ago)

Dud in so many ways (IMHO). Everyone looks better with hair.

, Friday, 13 December 2002 21:51 (twenty-three years ago)

kate, I'm afraid my rogue nation of Short Or Shaved thugs are going to be rising out of the confines of the shackles your opinions have placed on us!

donut bitch (donut), Saturday, 14 December 2002 00:07 (twenty-three years ago)

Everyone looks better with hair.

Women look better without hair. On top of their heads, I mean.

Every few months I shave my head, and I do think I wear it well. I'm fairly pale, but then again, being Asian, am not white.

Leee (Leee), Saturday, 14 December 2002 00:13 (twenty-three years ago)

J.Lu is a woman after my own heart. Craig Wedren = rowr

RickyT (RickyT), Saturday, 14 December 2002 00:32 (twenty-three years ago)

Oh, I forgot to say: DUD!

Sean (Sean), Saturday, 14 December 2002 00:37 (twenty-three years ago)

Classic.

Nate Patrin (Nate Patrin), Saturday, 14 December 2002 00:48 (twenty-three years ago)

This is a thread about Donut Bitch.

Donut Bitch.

Tad (llamasfur), Saturday, 14 December 2002 01:03 (twenty-three years ago)

Classic but this probably stems from my pubescent crush on Ewan as Renton. So, skinny black jeans and converse all stars = added bonus.

Genevieve, Saturday, 14 December 2002 01:15 (twenty-three years ago)

kinky lumberjack ?!!?!

i was bored and in the barbers chair.

anthony easton (anthony), Saturday, 14 December 2002 01:34 (twenty-three years ago)

There was a period where everywhere I went I would see boys with shaved heads, so now they come off as kind of conformist and boring.

Nicole (Nicole), Saturday, 14 December 2002 02:01 (twenty-three years ago)

Dud, dammit.

Curtis Stephens, Saturday, 14 December 2002 02:27 (twenty-three years ago)

I don't like the shiny actual shaved thing very much. I keep it a micrometer longer than that.

nabisco (nabisco), Saturday, 14 December 2002 03:17 (twenty-three years ago)

Just look at Captain Picard.
It's the future: classic: future

But then look at all the evil racist skinheads:
dud

A Nairn (moretap), Saturday, 14 December 2002 03:40 (twenty-three years ago)

Billy has rarely looked so winsome.

As it is, having just seen Star Trek: Nemesis, the guy playing Shinzon wore his baldness very well -- in combination with the outfit, I think it's the closest that particular universe will come to casting a Cenobite in a lead role.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Saturday, 14 December 2002 06:38 (twenty-three years ago)

Fucking classic as.

OCP (OCP), Saturday, 14 December 2002 10:57 (twenty-three years ago)

http://mr.unpopular.com/~ollee/4.gif er, nevermind the blood on my face. Long story, eh?

OCP (OCP), Saturday, 14 December 2002 10:58 (twenty-three years ago)

ROTTERDAM SAYS FUCK YOU AAAAAAAAAAAA BOING BOOM!

gareth (gareth), Saturday, 14 December 2002 12:39 (twenty-three years ago)

skin heads are sexy but their pubic areas smell

King Mob made me want to shave my head for a time (I figure I'll have plenty of time to do that later if I start losing my hair though).

Jordan (Jordan), Saturday, 14 December 2002 18:02 (twenty-three years ago)

So is it chaps with thin, long faces what usually make aesthetic pleasure with no hair?

Leee (Leee), Sunday, 15 December 2002 05:22 (twenty-three years ago)

That an a unibrow.

Sean (Sean), Sunday, 15 December 2002 21:43 (twenty-three years ago)

Everyone on this thread looks like Mark C!
