Congratulations Vik! Last night/this morning I also finished a work assignment that began to feel like I was back in school pulling an all-nighter. Where are you? If you're in the Washington area I'll buy you a drink to celebrate finishing.

Your writing style coveys how you are feeling very well. When reading, it makes me almost feel like I've been awake all week too.

You may never read this, but hooray, congrats V, and best of luck with the results and whatever comes after.

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Monday, 16 December 2002 21:53 (twenty-three years ago)

I did two weeks once. By the end of it everything had a greenish hue and I was seeing bullet holes and barbed wire over everything. I went up to somebody and said "Help, I need to take a dump but the toilet's got barbed wired all over it and I can't use it." They said, "Do you even recognise me?" and I realised I didn't, even though it was somebody I knew and they were three feet away.

And still feeling it today, eh Dave?

Dan I., Tuesday, 17 December 2002 07:49 (twenty-three years ago)

I'd debate the "72 hours and you're legally insane" thing -- I think that's more of a myth than anything. Also keep in mind that being "legally" insane is completely different from being "medically" insane, i.e. psychotic.

Six days, I think, for me. By the end of it I hated everyone and everything.

i'm going to be doing some late nights the next few days for my Tax LL.M. program ... got a Tax Procedure final today(!) at 6 pm, and a take-home due at 9 pm on Wednesday (lucky me -- I get to review the 401(k) rules and ERISA on at most 3 hours of sleep).

god i am a master at fucking myself

Pete De Freitas from Echo and the Bunnymen and his dodgy mate Andy Eastwood were meant to have stayed up for something like 16/13 days respectively in New Orleans once. They went a bit nuts.

Andrew Thames (Andrew Thames), Tuesday, 17 December 2002 10:09 (twenty-three years ago)

TOUCH THE TRUCK!

Madchen (Madchen), Tuesday, 17 December 2002 12:01 (twenty-three years ago)

what happens if you take
7 acids *and* stay up 72 hours ?
