Dud if you end up in jail for sure.

Classic if they're female and ten years older than you and you never ever would have guessed in a thousand years.

Dud because it seems like a really fucking stupid thing to lie about

Dud. Like, what else have they been hiding? Grr..

"a burning sensation in their crotch"

I went out with one woman who admitted, quite soon, that she had chopped four years off her age, from 40 to 36. I was 42 then. It didn't trouble me in the slightest.

SHE LIED TO YOU

RJG (RJG), Tuesday, 17 December 2002 23:40 (twenty-three years ago)

Classic. I like people lying about their age. I lie about my age. I also slept with a 27 year old who was really 42. It was very believable.

i don't get why people over the age of consent would go out w/ someone and not tell the truth about their age. i mean, once your over 18, what the fuck does age matter?

di smith (lucylurex), Wednesday, 18 December 2002 01:20 (twenty-three years ago)

(or 16 or whatever the law is where you are)

di smith (lucylurex), Wednesday, 18 December 2002 01:21 (twenty-three years ago)

It doesn't matter, if there's nothing major initially expected. For those who are more serious off the top however, budding couples with wider age differences can have issues with what they want out of life at the time... I think a new 19 year old/38 year old couple (for example) will be dealing with some complicated stuff a few years down the road, whether they like it or not. If both folks are at least in their late 30s, then at that point, age generally doesn't matter at all. Aw, shit, who am I to talk?

big freaking dud, you guys. when i was 17 (last summer,) i dated a 24 year-old who lived down the street from me. he was a little older than me, but no big deal. he even looked young for 24. and damn he was fine... taller than me, sweet baby face, amazing body...

wow. lost my train of thought for a second. sorry.

anyway, one night, we were laying in his hammock together, drinking wine and watching shooting stars; it was definitely the happiest and most content i'd been in a long time. except that he chose THAT moment to tell me that he was actually 37. and divorced, with 2 kids.

i flipped out. but, strangely enough, it wasn't that stuff that bothered me. what made me want to punch him in the face was the LYING. can't have the lying, you guys. =P

wow. i wanna look 24 when i'm 37. but i'll probably just be pottering round in a dodgy cardigan :/

g-kit (g-kit), Wednesday, 18 December 2002 10:14 (twenty-three years ago)

I know a couple who met when she was 14 and he 21 -- she lied and said she was 18 (which was believable, she looked older). When the truth came out, he disappeared for about a week. They've been married now for about 22 years.
