I acquired the most delicious pair of red (nice!) patent leather (gasp!) t-bar (oooh!) shoes on Sunday.

What shoes have you bought recently?

Lara, Wednesday, 18 December 2002 08:19 (twenty-three years ago)

RJG (RJG), Wednesday, 18 December 2002 09:37 (twenty-three years ago)

Red patent t-bars! Ooh I am jealous of nice new shoes. Most recent ones I got were lovely flat black suede dolly shoes from Shelley's. Impractical in the rainy weather, but very comfortable. May have to get leather version as well. Previously, but not worn very much due to bizarreness, ones quite similar in shape to Archel's but *hot pink* and kind of *knitted* fabric. What the hell, they were a fiver at the end of a sale.

Liz :x (Liz :x), Wednesday, 18 December 2002 10:48 (twenty-three years ago)

Dare you to wear them out tomorrow Liz (if you're indeed coming?)

Archel (Archel), Wednesday, 18 December 2002 11:25 (twenty-three years ago)

OK, I will then. So nerr. What will I get for showing you my preeety shoes? I shall be drinking muchly after interview for the job I'm already doing.

A bed wearing shoes... pleasing image :)

Liz: you get my extra special Christmas PRESENCE. So nerr.

Archel (Archel), Wednesday, 18 December 2002 12:22 (twenty-three years ago)

I needed new work shoes (like to go with a suit in the office). The last couple of pairs I bought were £9.99 from a market stall, and they didn't last well, so I thought I'd go to a proper shoe shop this time, even if it costs me a bit more. I bought a pair for £7.99. They are unusually comfy for new formal shoes.

I was looking at this thread title and thinking, "Wow, that's the swankest ski lodge ever!"

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Wednesday, 18 December 2002 13:24 (twenty-three years ago)

...where I was thinking "man, new gay sub-cultures are sprouting up every day!" Have we switched bodies?

(Does Rebecca approve? The real things are lovelier)

Graham (graham), Wednesday, 18 December 2002 18:02 (twenty-three years ago)

I just bought these:

Which an unkind soul has said look like some converse dipped in custard. And he was a Wimbledon fan too. Cant.

Dave B (daveb), Wednesday, 18 December 2002 18:08 (twenty-three years ago)

DANGER!

This thread may attract shoe fetishists!!

Arse!

One more try:

Mooro (Mooro), Wednesday, 18 December 2002 18:43 (twenty-three years ago)

That's filthy. I bought some brown mule type things the other week. They rub. I have bleeeding blisters on my feet. I'm determined to break the shoes in though. I will triumph. Ahaha.

alix (alix), Wednesday, 18 December 2002 18:51 (twenty-three years ago)

Is that our Nick slavering over that poor shoe?

j.lu (j.lu), Wednesday, 18 December 2002 18:52 (twenty-three years ago)

He's not mine any more.

Graham (graham), Wednesday, 18 December 2002 18:53 (twenty-three years ago)

They rub

Omitting verbs doesn't assist your word count, Lixi.

Mooro (Mooro), Wednesday, 18 December 2002 19:05 (twenty-three years ago)

A friend of mine at work called her g-string a t-bar. That's what I was hoping this thread was about.

lawrence kansas (lawrence kansas), Wednesday, 18 December 2002 19:13 (twenty-three years ago)

Why is that picture all blurry? I remember it being all blurry but that's not usually the way things work.

N. (nickdastoor), Wednesday, 18 December 2002 19:45 (twenty-three years ago)

Its cropped from a bigger picture: the original is only 29KB.

Less blurry but smaller = http://us.f1.yahoofs.com/groups/g_4105308/Shoes/__tn_Shoe+Fetish.jpg?bcgDOA.AOvt2sEqk

Mooro (Mooro), Wednesday, 18 December 2002 20:07 (twenty-three years ago)

Would that be considered a shoejob?

Nicole (Nicole), Wednesday, 18 December 2002 22:47 (twenty-three years ago)

I want to make a red cross joke but I haven't got the wherewithal, especially if it has to involve shoejobs.

N. (nickdastoor), Thursday, 19 December 2002 01:47 (twenty-three years ago)

I leave you ILXers on your own for two days and you start posting fetishist photography - WHY DOES THIS NEVER HAPPEN WHEN I'M AROUND??

Can I point out that I am not the kind of girl who lets boys lick her shoes? That Dastoor boy can keep his greasy lips well away from my red shoes...

Lara, Friday, 20 December 2002 15:04 (twenty-three years ago)

I bought these shoes

in black recently, with job interviews in mind. In the U.S. we call that basic style a maryjane; is it called something different in the U.K.?

j.lu (j.lu), Friday, 20 December 2002 16:58 (twenty-three years ago)

Nick has a special name for it, yes.

Graham (graham), Friday, 20 December 2002 23:03 (twenty-three years ago)

Does he pronounce it a la Gollum?

j.lu (j.lu), Saturday, 21 December 2002 02:18 (twenty-three years ago)

I decided to grace my friend's mulled wine party on Saturday night *WEARING THE RED PATENT LEATHER T-BARS*.

They looked a treat and got many admiring glances. One friend actually gasped when she saw them! Even boys remarked...

Lara, Monday, 23 December 2002 11:57 (twenty-three years ago)

I'm still wearing a green pair of these:

http://www.nose.it/fw02/images/shoes/shoes/shoes_age_01.gif

Though I'd like to switch over to something more like this:

nabisco (nabisco), Monday, 23 December 2002 22:58 (twenty-three years ago)

Interesting...*I* decided to grace my friend's part wearing *A RED PATENT LEATHER T-BACK*

should have seen the gasps and admiring glances that created.

webcrack (music=crack), Tuesday, 24 December 2002 23:23 (twenty-three years ago)

part="party", obv.
or maybe not.

webcrack (music=crack), Tuesday, 24 December 2002 23:24 (twenty-three years ago)

two months pass...
I I had to revive this as I acquired the most delicious pair of red (nice!) patent leather (gasp!) SLINGBACK(oooh!) shoes on Friday and I thought of this thread.

(should spend less time in shoe shops and on the internet. Why can't I go and improve my mind or something?)

But, due to the miracle that is TOPSHOP TWO FOR ONE SHOE SALE I also got a pair of gold 50's-style Come Dancing sandals meaning that each pair of shoes cost £12.50. And then I got a pair of stripey plimsols from Faith for £15.

I felt so decadent buying three pairs of shoes, even though I only spent £40.

Anna (Anna), Sunday, 2 March 2003 23:50 (twenty-three years ago)

A woman who thinks she should spend less time in shoe-shops has lost her mind. How can it be wrong when it feels so good?

Lara (Lara), Monday, 3 March 2003 10:09 (twenty-three years ago)

Anna, have you taken up ballroom dancing? I am imagining you waltzing in Nag Nag Nag, for reasons you'll guess.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Monday, 3 March 2003 13:17 (twenty-three years ago)

I bought a new pair of campers, black with red laces. They will be my shoes for the next 4 months or so.

Ed (dali), Monday, 3 March 2003 13:20 (twenty-three years ago)

I've just bought a red pair of ballerina type shoes, they're beautiful.

emma, Monday, 3 March 2003 14:25 (twenty-three years ago)

How can it be wrong when it feels so good?

Because it can be so frickin' expensive.

j.lu (j.lu), Monday, 3 March 2003 14:35 (twenty-three years ago)

No Martin, although I can waltz.

Anna (Anna), Monday, 3 March 2003 15:30 (twenty-three years ago)

T-Bar shoes are the greatest thing in the world. I'm so, so happy there's a bunch of them in the stores at present.

Mary Goodshoes, Monday, 3 March 2003 15:47 (twenty-three years ago)

everyday, you must say
"so, how do i feel about my shoes?"

http://rckp.imageg.net/@v=0366@/graphics/product_images/p904389reg.jpg
they make me awkward and plain.

Aaron A., Monday, 3 March 2003 16:18 (twenty-three years ago)

Ohh Dave B those are nice shoes.

Mary (Mary), Tuesday, 4 March 2003 03:03 (twenty-three years ago)

Boots in this shape but silver mylar and snake and in a cowboy cut-out style.

(these shown are hideous)

felicity (felicity), Tuesday, 4 March 2003 03:30 (twenty-three years ago)

Someone once offered to pay me $200.00 if I'd wear boots similar to these. I passed on the offer. Aren't they horrid? (And if you don't think that they're horrid, can you explain to me their appeal?)

Ahh gygax a classic.

Mary (Mary), Tuesday, 4 March 2003 06:03 (twenty-three years ago)

I wear these often. They last forever too:

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Tuesday, 4 March 2003 06:12 (twenty-three years ago)

Spencer gives good shoe. I now want to meet him. Those really are VERY GOOD SHOES. Hmmm.

Lara (Lara), Tuesday, 4 March 2003 08:14 (twenty-three years ago)

Those boots would look okay if you aren't expected to stand up at all in them, Laura. Otherwise they are unspeakable.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Tuesday, 4 March 2003 18:08 (twenty-three years ago)

I am cracking up at the Cruel Boots.

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Tuesday, 4 March 2003 18:13 (twenty-three years ago)

The en pointe boots are very witty but not comfortable looking. I like the top part. The stilleto plus the pointed toe is ugly.

Those boots certainly put what ballerinas do in perspective. Although I guess their shoes are flexible so they can straighten our their feet and rest, unlike with these boots. I wonder if they get $200 per wear?

felicity (felicity), Tuesday, 4 March 2003 18:15 (twenty-three years ago)

I would wear those boots for $200.

rosemary (rosemary), Tuesday, 4 March 2003 21:25 (twenty-three years ago)

eight months pass...
I am lusting after black patent leather T-bars, seen in the recently pilfered issue of Non-no. Where can I buy these paragons of engineering?

Mary Pringle (Mary), Friday, 21 November 2003 09:57 (twenty-two years ago)

ten months pass...
They've named a shoe after me!!!!

So they're pretty digusting boots but it's a start!

Lara (Lara), Tuesday, 28 September 2004 17:27 (twenty-one years ago)

There's so meant to be a picture up there...
