You mean the atrocity exhibition? Its more of a colelction of short stories than a novel, so the narrative is pretty weak.

its really really short though and they have no point ?

The stories describe the mental breakdown of the main character "Travis" (whose name goes through slight alterations through the book) and the way modern society reshapes his fragmented mind (blah blah blah). Actually its quite good, but if aren't enjoying Ballard's prose then it really isn't worth reading. Its his most "experimental" work; the rest of his work is pretty "normal" in comparison.

they gonna show jonathan weiss's 1998 atrocity exhibition next month here in rotterdam, the flyer reads: "a doctor of a mental institution breaks down when he watches all the atrocities of today"

nine years pass...

i inherited some books and comics from the late great martin skidmore, amongst them a rather lovely panther paperback edition of 'The Atrocity Exhibition'. Written in pen, on the first page (not in martin's hand) is the note 'Whatever possessed me?", which made me LOL.
