ok, so i have a talk with my grandmother about money and have found out the following information:
-She is paying for all of my 3 cousins schooling in private schools none the less, though my uncle makes 6 figures a year and drives a lexus
-She does not belive that writing is a career and will stop helping me out with my schooling(she pays for books) if i dont get a real job.
-my father inherited 250k when my grandfather died ten years ago, and has lost all of it in the market.
-i made 4500 last year and have lots and lots of student loans.

what do i do with this info.

try your very best not to be resentful as it is a defeating and pointless emotion.

take pride in knowing that you appreciate what you work for that much more. suffering builds character. (says she of impeccable character)

You do nothing with it - it won't do any good to talk to anyone about it since it's her money and she can do with it what she likes, your dad's money is gone, so no joy there - your only recourse is to become terribly rich and famous and thumb your nose at the world.

Yep. Nothing is right. I went through nearly the exact same thing (only we're talking 500k that didn't pay for my education) so I worked instead. But I'm not bitter - nooooo.

But ok, seriously, it would have been *nice*, and maybe better to have had lots of support, but I'm fine as is. I'm doing ok in my life (even if I'm not where I want to be yet) and I can't go around fixating on how things should have or even could have been. In lots of ways it's better to have gotten this far without the help.
