What have you been most wrong about in the past?

N. (nickdastoor), Friday, 27 December 2002 14:22 (twenty-three years ago)

Thinkind various people were better than they proved to be.

Andrew Thames (Andrew Thames), Friday, 27 December 2002 14:28 (twenty-three years ago)

Deciding I'd been going out with Isabel too long and finishing it. Luckily that wrongness I was able to reverse - that was eight years ago!

Tom (Groke), Friday, 27 December 2002 14:35 (twenty-three years ago)

I'm wrong quite frequently.

Unfortunately I'm one of those 'Of course I'm bloody right', and then someone explains to me why I'm wrong and then I'm all 'oh shit, sorry'

The most wrong thing?.. hmmm.. from a different perspective probably when I absoloutely truly believed that a best friend of mine fancied me and I turned about to be just *so* wrong. Needless to say the woopsee hit the fan.

Fuzzy (Fuzzy), Friday, 27 December 2002 14:40 (twenty-three years ago)

I thought I was an Ok typist, too

Andrew Thames (Andrew Thames), Friday, 27 December 2002 14:41 (twenty-three years ago)

search for emotional and sexual gratification

masonicboom, Friday, 27 December 2002 14:43 (twenty-three years ago)

Everytime I slept with someone, I was wrong about what I wanted with her. Sound puritanical, but when sex gets boring after about 10 minutes you know there's something going wrong

mario 3 (mario), Saturday, 28 December 2002 02:55 (twenty-three years ago)

Usually in believing in people when I really shouldn't have.

Nicole (Nicole), Saturday, 28 December 2002 03:11 (twenty-three years ago)

No matter how independent I am and how bored I am by dating, and how little I actually date these days (and how little I miss the company of sex), I still sometimes think that if I was with the right person, my unhappiness would go away. "Oh, if he would get a divorce and date me..." "Oh, if he would get serious psychological help/institutional style, heavy drugs..." "Oh, if he wasn't gay..." You know, totally unreasonable things. The funny thing is, I get disgusted going out on dates, and I have no interest in being with any men, but I still convince myself of it.

Does it even count if I know it's wrong and have no itnerest in pursuing it? Cos if it doesn't, then I vote for thinking I look good in red velour sweatpants.

Ally (mlescaut), Saturday, 28 December 2002 09:45 (twenty-three years ago)

Damnit Ally, that's more or less what happens to me. I keep on thinking that sex with this or that girl will be that definitive erotic tour-de-force of aesthetic and biological evolution, but it always ends up being the same "erm, do you have condoms?" kind of banality and then I wonder, why do I keep on trying?

mario 3 (mario), Saturday, 28 December 2002 16:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Long hair.

Al Ewing (Al Ewing), Saturday, 28 December 2002 17:42 (twenty-three years ago)

I have been wrong about a lot of things. Girls... all of them... errrm... school... parents... I am good at picking out CDs.

Aaron Grossman (aajjgg), Saturday, 28 December 2002 18:08 (twenty-three years ago)

what are you 2 talking about, the sex has been great, it's been the emotional stuff that's been psyche-shredding shit. yet it's emotional and social connection i crave. maybe i should just give up on ever attaining it and realise good sex is all i'm ever likely to get. maybe i should stay off these sorts of threads when i'm feeling so fragile.

masonicboom, Saturday, 28 December 2002 18:30 (twenty-three years ago)

Women enjoy sex for sex's sake more than men non-shockah!

N. (nickdastoor), Saturday, 28 December 2002 18:42 (twenty-three years ago)

Absolutely nothing.

Curtis Stephens, Saturday, 28 December 2002 18:48 (twenty-three years ago)

two words: Stella Artois.

katie (katie), Sunday, 29 December 2002 09:17 (twenty-three years ago)

I had this argument with someone about the bit in the Rocky Horror Picture Show when Frankenfurter freezes up Dr. Scott's wheelchair - well I thought that Dr.Scott said, "Oh no! My veels! I can't move my veels!" but apparently I was wrong and he actually says, "My veels, I've lost my veels".

rainy (rainy), Sunday, 29 December 2002 09:36 (twenty-three years ago)

oh i would've said the same as you rainy, because it follows on from brad and/or janet saying "my legs, i can't move my legs" doesn't it?

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Sunday, 29 December 2002 11:33 (twenty-three years ago)
