He's Losing It

Have you lost stuff lately? Do you know in the back of your mind you can find it, or do you worry about things that, when the time comes when you *need* to find that that you don't have a daffy's where to look?

I have currently lost:

2 car keys, mysteriously vanished within the fortnight prior to my car being stolen. Car was hot-wired, so I didn't accidentally leave them somewhere findable; but after 7 years of car ownership, suddenly both keys disappeared, and I've never found them since, despite a massive seacrh. This no longer matters, as it was 18 months ago and I have a new car, but they remain MIA.

A tube of Superglue. Used only once, but now desperately needed again. Not a fucking clue where the irritatingly small tube has got to.

The cover to "It's a Cool Cool Christmas" CD. Dematerialised sometime after March this year. Unlikely to be in hoover.

Tweezers: possibly not really a mystery, as I kept them within knocking distance of my bedroom bin.

Wedding invitation to good friend's wedding in New Jersey, which I'm actually going to. Urgently needed for plane ticket bookage, following the discovery that Jersey is not a few hundred acres to the left of NYC.

90% of hair on head. I just know it'll be in the last place I look, but still irritating and mildly disfiguring.

I'm losing my edge.

Actually, I think I may have had a limited edition Merzbow LP I won on e-bay lost in the mail.

My two favorite pairs of scissors -- where could they have gone???

I have also lost the ability to remember if I cleaned my teeth tonight or not.

I lose everything. Currently I'm wondering why my copy of Ovuca - "Lactavent" is because I think there's a track on it called "Kissa", which, being Finnish for "cat", makes it a candidate for the Songs About Cats ILM thread. There also seems to be a natural law that dictates that at any one time I will have lost at least one out of the following: my purse, my credit card wallet, and my housekeys.

Lost a nice earring at ATP two years ago, which I was only mildly annoyed about since it was really cheap until I discovered that the shop I got it from had stopped selling earrings and had no idea where they'd got them from. Lost half of a pair of probably more expensive but not very nice earrings which I was planning to wear anyway because my grandma got me them and I was going to wear them to visit her.

Plus SOMEWHERE in this house there must be a really big pile of nail scissors because I keep buying the bastards when I realise I can't find any of the pairs I already have.

I really wish I could fit some kind of radio tracking device to everything I own or have ever borrowed.

Time to hit submit and lose a little more of my dignity, if I have any left by now...

(OK, "ever borrowed" -> "currently borrowed", I have no great interest in stalking people I borrow things from, just not looking a complete arse by dropping their stuff behind my computer desk for three years might be nice.)

My youth, my innocence, my mind.

I thought on Saturday I'd lost a toy panda I'd had since I was 0 years old. If so I would have been inconsolable! But I hadn't. And during the search for it I found a CD carrier with loads of my favourite CDs in, lost since May! I still can't find my Streets album though :(

Tom (Groke), Monday, 30 December 2002 11:34 (twenty-three years ago)

I found my 2 Many DJs Cd eventually. There's still lots missing though.
Recently I have lost my mini-radio in the lirbary, my keys, and my National Express student card, all got back quickly though, yay lost property.

This weekend I lost my railcard, and am not happy.

I found the Ovuca cd, although not its case or inlay, but the tracklisting's on the cd so I'm not too bothered right now. I post here only to note that the track before "Kissa" is called "Meng". Yay!
