My first single was Ride A White Swan. Marc is one of my favourite songwriters, singers, lyricists, guitarists, pop stars and sex gods ever.

Another case where my advanced years are an advantage: I saw him play live. I'm very glad I took the opportunity, on his last tour, even though he was past his best.

This thread was before my time, but I have talked on ILM about how much I loved T. Rex. First single I ever bought (Ride A White Swan), had loads of posters, saw him play live. One of my favourite singers, songwriters, guitarists, lyricists and sex symbols ever. Probably the first man I ever really fancied.

(Also Di decided I was cool because I'd seen him live. I suspect she was drunk at the time of our IM conversation, but there's another great benefit from being a fan.)

so here i am fact-checking style for the spelling of T.Rex for the book i'm editing, and yes, in general the LP covers use a full stop so that's what it is

and it just struck me how funny this bandname is, like when a little kid has learned you can use a full stop to write the shortening and then on a drawing there isn't room for the whole word (or else they're not quite sure how to spell it and this is a workaround)

everyone calls the dinosaur t.rex now, well, marc bolan made it ok to do that!
