Should I go see Suicide play this Saturday or should I go see Erin Moran in the Vagina Monologues?

It's 1977 all over again!

Here's the thing: the only Suicide album I liked was the first one plus they're boring old farts, right? Plus, the last thing I saw on Erin Moran was terrifying, so I'm thinking the Joanie thing might be more 'confrontational'. Plus I like vaginas.

James Blount, Tuesday, 14 January 2003 08:27 (twenty-three years ago)

But the new Suicide record is a real good 'un.

Colin Meeder (Mert), Tuesday, 14 January 2003 09:03 (twenty-three years ago)

I saw them way back in 1978 (I believe it was - middle of the bill between the 'Coventry' Specials and the Clash), and don't feel terribly excited about the idea of seeing them again now.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Tuesday, 14 January 2003 13:44 (twenty-three years ago)

Isn't the Vagina Monologues, like, really crappy? Go Suicide, I would have thought.

N. (nickdastoor), Tuesday, 14 January 2003 13:48 (twenty-three years ago)

Dude, really, go see Suicide. Surely it'll be a better memory in like 20 years. And yes I've never heard of anyone really liking the VM.

Andrew Thames (Andrew Thames), Tuesday, 14 January 2003 13:57 (twenty-three years ago)

Even with the great Erin Moran, VM just seems like one of those stupid things Oprah tells people to go see because it's "empowering" (from the excerpts I've seen of it anyway).

Go see Suicide. It's painless, and it may bring on many changes.

Nicole (Nicole), Tuesday, 14 January 2003 14:06 (twenty-three years ago)

Also the second Suicide record is superduper.

Andrew Thames (Andrew Thames), Tuesday, 14 January 2003 14:11 (twenty-three years ago)

Do you get to see Erin Moran's vagina?

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Tuesday, 14 January 2003 14:44 (twenty-three years ago)

suicide of course there might be a riot! *winky face*

Julio Desouza (jdesouza), Tuesday, 14 January 2003 15:11 (twenty-three years ago)

Can't find it now, but somewhere on the webbernet is a spoof poster for the Vagina Monologues, text along the lines of "If a cunt could talk, what would it say? Starring Jim Davidson."

Brilliant.

SittingPretty (sittingpretty), Tuesday, 14 January 2003 15:15 (twenty-three years ago)

Joanie Loves Blountie.

Pete (Pete), Tuesday, 14 January 2003 15:25 (twenty-three years ago)

Joanie Loves Quim.

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Tuesday, 14 January 2003 15:47 (twenty-three years ago)

Go see Suicide. It's painless, and it may bring on many changes.

ARRRRRRRRRRRRRGH!

Thank you, drive through.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 14 January 2003 15:48 (twenty-three years ago)

Oh Ned, you know you can take or leave it if you try.

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Tuesday, 14 January 2003 15:50 (twenty-three years ago)

I have left a gift, an open goal for you if you will, on the red light district thread, Mr. Perry. Go there, lest I slay thee for this montrosity here.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 14 January 2003 15:51 (twenty-three years ago)

what is the appeal of the vadge monologues?

DV (dirtyvicar), Tuesday, 14 January 2003 16:06 (twenty-three years ago)

Dan, didn't you mean:

Do you get to see Erin Moran's vagina talk?

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Tuesday, 14 January 2003 18:31 (twenty-three years ago)

Erin Moran stars in CHATTERBOX!

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Tuesday, 14 January 2003 18:32 (twenty-three years ago)

Why did I know that you would know about that, Dan?

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 14 January 2003 18:51 (twenty-three years ago)

I was so mad when my parents wouldn't let me see that movie when I heard about it. (I think I was 10.)

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Tuesday, 14 January 2003 18:52 (twenty-three years ago)

In the vagina monologues is it the girl tells anecdotes about their vaginas (YAY) or do they talk 'the vagina vis a vis society' o holy vagina (NAY)? Is there a Q&A portion to the evening? ("Did Donny Most ever go digital with you?") Maybe I'll go see a Hawks game *shudder*

James Blount, Tuesday, 14 January 2003 18:53 (twenty-three years ago)

Is it like "Puppetry of the Penis", only inverted?

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Tuesday, 14 January 2003 18:55 (twenty-three years ago)

I'm currently 'polishing off' my own version: The Mangina Machinations

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Tuesday, 14 January 2003 19:12 (twenty-three years ago)
