When does the money come?

monday's a legal holiday ... that might be what's holding up the $$$ from hitting yer account

any money being transferred by electronic thing should be in your account by 2am, it really depends on what time the tape is run ( yes believe it or not it still has to be done, well it did when i last worked in a bank ).
if monday is a holiday wherever you are, it may be that there are a lot of transfers to be processed, causing some delay. try again at 6am and if its not there by then, well, good luck for monday :-)

I'm in the UK. Is it a holiday here? Damn, I've got no money.

Also, does anyone know exactly how the 'balance' and 'available balance' work when you go to the machine? It's always confusing. I put in a cheque on Wednesday, and today the proper balance includes it (so it's cleared, yes?) but the available balance ignores it. Surely, if anything, it ought to be the other way around? I'm clinging to this hope that something's fucked up with my account or the bank's computer and I'm still gonna get paid.

eyeball, i think the proper balance includes it when you pay it in, but it doesn't go to available until it's cleared. apparently (according to ptee) barclays now let you draw on checks immediately, but for some reason the rest of uk banking has yet to pick up on this novel, yet SCREAMINGLY OBVIOUS, idea...

also it's not a holiday here on monday, god knows what the septics are celebrating this time ;)

i got my payslip this morning despite not being paid until tuesday, dunno what that's all aboot (payslip also came with staff newsletter featuring pic of ME at xmas party, fortunately NOT making an arse of myself, but still a little disconcerting first thing in the morning...)
