Crap Recommendations From Amazon

I was recently adding my entire book and CD collection to Amazon, to get some recommendations. 9 times out of them, they're accurate. The other times, you get stuff like this.

If you like "Lolita" by Vladmir Nabokov, you may also like... Shaven Angels 3.

"Word Gets Around" by the Stereophonics. This was recommended to you because you ranked at 5 stars "Oh No" by Mos Def, Nate Dogg, Pharoahe Monch.

Any similar stories?

I've only written one review for Amazon; I *had* to slam "Aloha from Hawaii" by Elvis Presley. I don't care how many Elvis fans adore it, it's absolute garbage. Sure Elvis was the King, but not on this Quadraphonic, Dynaflex, Diecut load of crap. It's a must to avoid...

And that's my new stage name, Mustoua Void.

Whenever I get one thing, it gives me 5 recommendations by the same author or band. Very uncreative.

i wanna know how they figure out the recommendations on Kazaa Lite ... i mean, if you have a few rap songs, then just about all the recommendations end up being rap songs.

On one site where I bought CDs by '50s jazz entertainer Louis Prima and Atari Teenage Riot, the next time I visited (having bookmarked the Prima page, I discovered) it assured me that if I liked Louis Prima I would also like Atari Teenage Riot. True, but I suspect not universally so.
