Could people in Devon have seen the Aurora Borealis (sic)(northern lights[not the book]) last night?

William reckons he did. I am unsure.

it is possible. i saw it from cambridge once. it was in the papers the next day -- not that it was seen in cambridge, but that it was seen unusually far south

I dunno but I'm suss on Delta Goodrem having an aurora in the sky in her video as the video looks like it's set in Melbourne and I've never seen an aurora in Melb. I have in Tassie but surely Melb is too far from Antarctica.

is the antarctic one also aurora borealis tho? ("glow of the north wind" so surely not?)

seven years pass...

There's a AuroraWatch red alert tonight (as there was last night). Wonder what the chances are of seeing in Oxfordshire?

Apparently it was visible in Cambs last night?

Piedie Gimbel, Monday, 27 February 2023 21:15 (three years ago)

once every 20 years!

Apparently, there were sightings from Port Meadow tonight.

Props to djh for his crazily parochial Oxon reference.

No sign of aurorae in Wood Farm, FWIW.

To be fair, I had asked about Oxfordshire, so there was a context.
