we finally got our flat tidied up yesterday afternoon, and thought we'd hoover for the first time in about four months (i should point out that i was in boston for three and a half of those months and am not quite that slovenly). after a couple of minutes of trying to work out where we'd put the vaccuum cleaner that we'd bought last weekend it became horribly clear that when throwing out rubbish earlier in the week we'd disposed of it without even opening the box.

luckily it was the cheapest hoover in argos so this was more funny than annoying.

so, umm, this is the thread where you talk about stupid things that you've done recently, i guess.

I asked my mum how to make cheese sauce for macaroni, simple really, if you put the stuff in a pan over the cooker instead of trying to make it cold, d'oh!

eleven months pass...

I remember I threw the lid of the swing-bin away once. it was a pretty cheapo swing-bin where the lid wouuld sometimes detach itself and fall into the rubbish. On one occasion it got buried in the rubbish and my landlord did the sack up and put it out for the bin-men. Seeing as I find it highly unlikely that you can buy replacement lids chances are we'll have a non-swinging bin for the foreseeable future.
