ILX funding

Just a query (and a suggestion). What are the running costs of ILX? Does it cost any extra to run other than the costs Graham (?) would pay anyway?

Maybe there could be an ILX Paypal account to which people could pay into for one offs such as the ILX comp, rather than burdening jel or whoever with the costs of organising the pressing etc of the CD's.

It doesn't cost me anything other than time. Andrew owns the server. It runs a few other sites/services so it would be running anyway, and he works for the ISP so bandwidth is free.

Jel has paid the costs of producing/distributing the ILX comp.

Still - some sort of ILx trust fund....

Yes, I'd have happily contributed for the CD. I hope I remembered to buy jel a drink when he distributed them. Just in case, I shall try to buy him one next time we meet.

Oh I don't mind the costs! Because:

a) it's nice to give things away
b) asking for money = more pressure
c) asking for money can get a bit messy

So, it's all cool!

Though, if I do a 2nd volume of the comp, I may have to ask for a bit of money to cover the CD duplication costs. So an ILX fund may be of use, and for the spoken word thing. Unless, someone has access to a reliable CDR duplicator than can handle a run of about 100.

I sure wish I had looked for/at this thread before starting this one. Sorry, everyone.
