Little yappy dogs C/D?

Now I know that there is a preponderance for kittens around these parts but how do you feel about tiny little dogs that look k-cute but yap and bite ankles indiscriminately?

I ask because the burd that lives next door to us in our beautiful new home has such a beast and I am this close to buying a machine gun and riddling the vile little creature with bullets!

Now I’m not normally a violent person and I really quite like dogs but this thing is EVIL. It barks constantly and bites everyone that gets within a 50ft radius of our front door (including elderly folk and children).

It’s owner lets it out at like 01.30 am and it just runs around and around outside on the street barking its annoying little lungs out. Then she lets the little f*cker out at 06.30am. It’s neglect really, she should be taking it out for a walk no? Not letting it roam the streets keeping everyone awake and attacking innocents!

Suggest alternatives to purchasing aforementioned machine gun please.

Buy a big, sweet, but strong dog and have it teach the little beast some manners.

Colin Meeder (Mert), Wednesday, 22 January 2003 11:35 (twenty-three years ago)

That may take some time and I'm almost at breaking point through sleep depravation..

smee (smee), Wednesday, 22 January 2003 11:37 (twenty-three years ago)

Dud, especially when they start yapping at cute little frightened kittens. Big calm friendly dogs, on the other hand, are classic.

caitlin (caitlin), Wednesday, 22 January 2003 11:38 (twenty-three years ago)

"Suggest alternatives to purchasing aforementioned machine gun please"

'A Fish Called Wanda' has some good ideas.

James Ball (James Ball), Wednesday, 22 January 2003 11:40 (twenty-three years ago)

little yappy dogs have character.

DV (dirtyvicar), Wednesday, 22 January 2003 11:59 (twenty-three years ago)

so do sleep depraved people.

RJG (RJG), Wednesday, 22 January 2003 12:01 (twenty-three years ago)

Are you comparing me to a little yappy dog?

smee (smee), Wednesday, 22 January 2003 12:16 (twenty-three years ago)

so do sleep depraved people.

I now understand my fondness for little yappy dogs.

BOW WOW WOW WOW WOW!

DV (dirtyvicar), Wednesday, 22 January 2003 12:17 (twenty-three years ago)

smee: "I am depraved."

RJG (RJG), Wednesday, 22 January 2003 12:20 (twenty-three years ago)

This dog does not say bow wow wow, it goes yap yap yap yap yap yap yapyap yap yap yap Yap yap yap yap yap yap yap yap yap repeat to fade.....

I am depraved because I am deprived of sleep!

smee (smee), Wednesday, 22 January 2003 12:21 (twenty-three years ago)

In fact it does neither of those things, as dogs can only make vowel sounds, not consonant ones. Maybe its pedantic ppl who ought to be riddled with bullets.

MarkH (MarkH), Wednesday, 22 January 2003 13:47 (twenty-three years ago)

Lots of violent threads today... Declaring war on everything, riddling dog and people with bullets... *sob*
WHAT HAS the WORLD COME TO?
GOd, WHY?A????!?@?!?

Sarah McLusky (coco), Wednesday, 22 January 2003 14:15 (twenty-three years ago)

I haven't killed the doggie yet, I am still awaiting some non-violent suggestions....

smee (smee), Wednesday, 22 January 2003 14:16 (twenty-three years ago)

Pay someone else to kill it, and you will have a clean conscience. aka the US gov't's current approach.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 22 January 2003 14:17 (twenty-three years ago)

Have you talked to the neighbor yet about it?

Sarah McLusky (coco), Wednesday, 22 January 2003 14:19 (twenty-three years ago)

kill the neighbour-------------soon the dog's yapping will decrease and it will eventually starve to death.

RJG (RJG), Wednesday, 22 January 2003 14:20 (twenty-three years ago)

She's never there! I've been to her door with biscuits and cakes ( a wee sweetner for when I tell her her dogs a menace) numerous times and either she's not in or she doesn't answer

RJG - You are truly twisted.

Mark H - is that the reason we've never seen a dog version of Countdown?

smee (smee), Wednesday, 22 January 2003 14:22 (twenty-three years ago)

How about a simple call to animal control? That usually works, because they will speak to the owner. If the owner continues to let the dog out all hours of the night, he will be fined. Try it. Just don't hurt the dog.

Chris V. (Chris V), Wednesday, 22 January 2003 14:24 (twenty-three years ago)

eddie izzard does a great bit on yappy dogs.

But seriously folks, I don't mind if people have small yappy type dogs, as long as they don't mind when I kick them.

Actually, that small dog off spin city, CLASSIC.

nellie (minna), Wednesday, 22 January 2003 14:24 (twenty-three years ago)

she's in but never answers because she knows your biscuits and cakes are filled with a poison.

RJG (RJG), Wednesday, 22 January 2003 14:25 (twenty-three years ago)

Try calling her and invite her over.
Serve dinner and turn on some music.
Then she'll probably come inside and start eating.
When she goes into another room, delete all the exits and she'll slowly die.

No, wait! that's my SImS thread! ha ha

Sarah McLusky (coco), Wednesday, 22 January 2003 14:31 (twenty-three years ago)

Is there a UK version of Animal Control? Environmental Health?

smee (smee), Wednesday, 22 January 2003 14:37 (twenty-three years ago)

Call animal control, and be sure to tell them that the dog has a history of biting people -- then they will put it down as a vicious attack beast. (I don't hate dogs per se; I just don't like how noisy and uncontrolled some of them can be.)

j.lu (j.lu), Wednesday, 22 January 2003 14:37 (twenty-three years ago)

cut a door in cittegazza and pop it thru, but don't forget to seal up the edges

mark s (mark s), Wednesday, 22 January 2003 14:41 (twenty-three years ago)

Speaking of dogs, this weird old agent in my office was telling me this morning, "Sarah, I just can't believe people these days... I saw this thing on the morning news where some cops pulled over a family - a FAMILY!!! - and made them get out of their car. And then the family dog jumped out of the car and approached one of the officers and he SHOT IT!"
So I was like, "Uh... What were they pulled over for?"
And he said, "I don't know. But can you believe it? A FAMILY?? And they shot their dog??"

In conclusion, Old people are weird.

But, err, back to topic at hand...
I agree
with Poops Mcgee.

Sarah McLusky (coco), Wednesday, 22 January 2003 14:41 (twenty-three years ago)

This dog does not say bow wow wow, it goes yap yap yap yap yap yap yapyap yap yap yap Yap yap yap yap yap yap yap yap yap repeat to fade.....

I say "Bow Wow Wow".

Bow Wow Wow Wow Wow!

DV (dirtyvicar), Wednesday, 22 January 2003 14:41 (twenty-three years ago)

"But seriously folks, I don't mind if people have small yappy type dogs, as long as they don't mind when I kick them."

This one's clever, it waits until you turn around, then dives at the back of your ankles, bites and runs like hell - you can never get a good kick at it (not that I've tried or anything....)

smee (smee), Wednesday, 22 January 2003 14:42 (twenty-three years ago)

carry a shovel. if you don't already.

RJG (RJG), Wednesday, 22 January 2003 14:44 (twenty-three years ago)

It's too fast, its a nippy wee bugger, it'll have to be sniper attack methinks...

smee (smee), Wednesday, 22 January 2003 14:46 (twenty-three years ago)

I like ti when they bite Mojo Jojo on the hiney.

Graham (graham), Wednesday, 22 January 2003 14:47 (twenty-three years ago)

Do you think I could coax it into a trap using Mojo Jojo as bait?

smee (smee), Wednesday, 22 January 2003 14:48 (twenty-three years ago)

you kick a dog you deserve a quick kick to the general vicinity of your groin. i could see if it was a rottweiler or a pitbull or some sort of giant man eating beast.

Chris V. (Chris V), Wednesday, 22 January 2003 14:50 (twenty-three years ago)

Oh gawd, get over it I was joking. The horrible wee thing is annoying but I don't actually blame it for this, I blame it's owner for being too lazy to walk the damn thing!

I wonder if you'd be so eager to defend the doggie if it was waking you up at all hours of the day and night and biting your (step)children?

smee (smee), Wednesday, 22 January 2003 15:20 (twenty-three years ago)

the dogs in my neighborhood bark all day and night, i get used to it. The biting like I said deserves a call to Animal Control. Enough said.

Chris V. (Chris V), Wednesday, 22 January 2003 15:22 (twenty-three years ago)

I live in Scotland, we don't have "Animal Control", next suggestion?

smee (smee), Wednesday, 22 January 2003 15:23 (twenty-three years ago)

move to america.

RJG (RJG), Wednesday, 22 January 2003 15:24 (twenty-three years ago)

no pet control in scotland? nothing even remotely similar?

Chris V. (Chris V), Wednesday, 22 January 2003 15:24 (twenty-three years ago)

Not that I'm aware of, hence the thread, was looking for suggestions not animal rights twams getting at me for JOKING about kicking a dog! I give up

smee (smee), Wednesday, 22 January 2003 15:27 (twenty-three years ago)

well i didn't realize you were joking. i just get defensive because I adopted a dog that was kicked and beaten on a regular basis. So i apologize for doing so.

Chris V. (Chris V), Wednesday, 22 January 2003 15:29 (twenty-three years ago)

I had a golden labrador for 14 years, I never kicked it once - are you off my case now?

smee (smee), Wednesday, 22 January 2003 15:30 (twenty-three years ago)

I have a Scottie dog, but I wouldn't call him yappy.

jel -- (jel), Wednesday, 22 January 2003 15:31 (twenty-three years ago)

see above, yes i am.

Chris V. (Chris V), Wednesday, 22 January 2003 15:31 (twenty-three years ago)

some people!

RJG (RJG), Wednesday, 22 January 2003 15:31 (twenty-three years ago)

Buy a big, sweet, but strong dog and have it teach the little beast some manners.

Won't work. My big black lab is scared to death of yippy little dogs. They come and bark and jump up and try to reach his nose to bite it, and he just stands there quietly and then runs away. I hate those little dogs.

Maria (Maria), Wednesday, 22 January 2003 15:33 (twenty-three years ago)

RSPCA surely is the equivalent of animal control.

nellie (minna), Wednesday, 22 January 2003 15:35 (twenty-three years ago)

Yap dogs are the most highly kickable things on Earth. With every "yip" they are actually saying "PLEASE KICK ME ACROSS THE YARD!"

nickalicious (nickalicious), Wednesday, 22 January 2003 15:36 (twenty-three years ago)

I had a Great Dane who was fearless and non-violent; when confronted by a little yippy creature, she would look at it with pity, then step on it with her front paw for about five seconds. Little dogs would then run away silently in terror, with no injuries.

Many Labs (retrievers in general) have little dog brains in big dog bodies.

Colin Meeder (Mert), Wednesday, 22 January 2003 15:36 (twenty-three years ago)

I think the RSPCA are only really interested if it involves cruelty to the animal, and I think the neighbour spoils the dog if anything, she's just too lazy to walk it.

Does anyone know? Local environmental health perhaps?

smee (smee), Wednesday, 22 January 2003 15:37 (twenty-three years ago)

yes, my dog definitely has a little dog brain. but at least it's a nice gentle one.

What do your aunts and your bros' moms always see in these dogs? Actually I can tolerate a little bit of yap. What I can't stand are those shivering little cowardly dogs.

I want a coonhound. A loud, obnoxious, drooling, well-trained coonhound.

ENBB, Thursday, 12 June 2008 01:46 (eighteen years ago)

there, i said. small dogs are annoying. i want to smack them but you cant really smack dogs. so you just end up glaring at them when their owners arent looking.

Generally I do not like small yappy dogs but rather small fat wrinkly snoring type dogs. That said, look at that dog's awesome hair and outfit! How can you not <3 it.

ENBB, Thursday, 12 June 2008 02:04 (eighteen years ago)

Do not <3 any small dogs, sorry, dog lovers. :( The closest I can come is cuteoverload had links to some really incredibly baby dachsunds the other day but that's it. The various miniature bulldog puppies are so cute but they grow up to be jowly and awful (I know wrinkly is cute to a lot of people but not to me!).

I do like that the baby is rocking a punked out Chelsea, though.

ENBB, Thursday, 12 June 2008 03:44 (eighteen years ago)

I know I am kind of going babby nuts.

Abbott, Thursday, 12 June 2008 03:45 (eighteen years ago)

I am working at a maternity clothing store too, so would get sweet discounts on clothes. Which is one of the worst reasons to make babby.

Abbott, Thursday, 12 June 2008 03:46 (eighteen years ago)

Does someone want to fund me making a babby?

Abbott, Thursday, 12 June 2008 03:47 (eighteen years ago)

Where do they GET these awesome BABY CLOTHES! I want my nephew's wardrobe to look more like that but my mother WILL keep getting him powder blue sleepers with sailboats and duckies on them.

no! until he was about four he was all black except for his right forepaw. then he went grey above his eyes and for about 9 months he had arched eyebrows and always looked surprised. then he aged gracefully.
