Currently people in the flat above are playing and Andre Lloyd-Webber 'Greatest Hits' cd, very loudly. It is percolating through the floor. this is a personal little hell for me and I shall go upstairs and get them to turn it down.

What your idea of Hell.

Ed (dali), Wednesday, 22 January 2003 21:20 (twenty-three years ago)

It could be worse - Andrew Lloyd-Webber could move in upstairs.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Wednesday, 22 January 2003 21:21 (twenty-three years ago)

Same as Ed's, only the CD is stuck on "Masquerade" and "Think Of Me".

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Wednesday, 22 January 2003 21:21 (twenty-three years ago)

currently I am failing to export data from excel, know-nothing spreadsheet software into spss, know-nothing financial statistics software. The help desk said talk to [my annoying coworker]. I have am ear infection. This is hell. Though it could be worse, [my annoying coworker] could be playing espresso guitar again.

isadora (isadora), Wednesday, 22 January 2003 21:27 (twenty-three years ago)

on a cd, not actually playing a guitar (which, in fact, would be the innermost circle of hell)

isadora (isadora), Wednesday, 22 January 2003 21:28 (twenty-three years ago)

try exporting and importing with text files if you haven't already

Ed (dali), Wednesday, 22 January 2003 21:36 (twenty-three years ago)

My personal nightmare is my current work project, which is hugely boring and frustrating and involves me having to turn qualitative website write-ups into pseudo-quantitative 'data'. It's good practise for me I suppose cause it goes directly against my predeliction for hedging everything, but by god it's tiresome.

Tom (Groke), Wednesday, 22 January 2003 21:56 (twenty-three years ago)

First period gym during the swimming unit.
The very idea of working at McDonald's.
Being served pilaf every day of my life.

Maria (Maria), Wednesday, 22 January 2003 22:46 (twenty-three years ago)

My personal nightmares

Detox

School (ah thank god that one's over for good)

Mowing the lawn when I come home on Sunday afternoon without any sleep having danced all night and mashed my brain up something awful. This one's the worst actually, I went to sleep in the dew one time.

Ronan (Ronan), Wednesday, 22 January 2003 22:57 (twenty-three years ago)

Maria, in my school there were girls who'd taken time and effort with hair and make-up who, when swimming unit came, said they were menstrual for weeks on end.

suzy (suzy), Wednesday, 22 January 2003 23:05 (twenty-three years ago)

Going to prison. I have an irrational fear of it, even though I don't do, nor have ever done, anything that would require me to be incarcerated.

mike a (mike a), Wednesday, 22 January 2003 23:49 (twenty-three years ago)

my own personal hell would be having to move back in with my parents. (living with parents after the age of 20 or so is generally an unpleasant experience, or so it's been for me).

JuliaA (j_bdules), Thursday, 23 January 2003 01:44 (twenty-three years ago)

This godawful band I saw Friday night. Pretentious, 10K maniac-ish, too much money and not enought talent crap. I was dying.

Or my 8th period class on the friday before a long weekend. ::shudder::

(colin and felicity will understand)

I understand, too!

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Thursday, 23 January 2003 22:46 (twenty-three years ago)

sorry to hear that. I believe gabbneb also does.

Document review is a nasty and painfully tedious piece of work involving going through boxes -- sometimes warehouses full of boxes -- of documents (or through electronic files nowadays), often off-site. Some lawyers spend years doing nothing but this for a single case. They don't talk about this in law school.

felicity (felicity), Thursday, 23 January 2003 23:52 (twenty-three years ago)

If you're lucky, you get to go through TIFF files organized in software that was partially written by MEEEE!
