I think it's less that women are a mystery, more that they can't be bothered explaining themselves most of the time. Men need to feel justified in everything they do - including being sick and falling over. Generalising, yes, but hey . . . .

Somewhat related- I've always had this weird fear that I'll have a baby boy one day because I would have no idea what to do with it. I mean, I know nothing about boys. I didn't have any brothers so I feel rather fuzzy about the whole thing.So I guess boys are mysterious to me.
