Actually now that I think about it the idea that Liberace managed to convincingly argue in a court of law that he was not gay is, in hindsight, the most hilarious thing in the world, so I suppose it was all worth it in the end. Poor guy's entire stage schtick was suddenly and irrevocably adopted as the central public image of homosexuality.
