The only person ever

Do you ever think to yourself: I'm probably the only person doing this right now or something similar? I had this thought the other night while listening to the Comedian Harmonists (a 1930s German vocal group) and watching an NBA game. I mean, the chances of someone else watching a basketball game while listening to German vocal music is pretty slim. I know this means jackshit, but it seemed pertinent at the time.

More lame anecdotes!

I'm probably the only person watching "Grounded for Life" and enjoying it.

I think this *all the time*. It's the root of all vanity.

And in a minute I'm gonna be the only one watching Grounded for Life whilst listening to the Manics.

"Two no trump . . . (in the ass, ass, ass, ass)"

Anyone else listening to Nat King Cole, eating Fantasy Mix and worrying about a lost diary?

Lara (Lara), Thursday, 23 January 2003 23:15 (twenty-three years ago)

A disgusting one: My old roommate used to eat a plate of beans, fries and mayo while taking a bath and reading Robert A. Heinlein books. I mean, who reads Heinlein, right?

...wore a Ralph Records T-shirt to my high school. (Every time I did, I ended up with a bunch of people pretending to vomit, saying things like "If I listened to those, I might ralph!" and things like that. Oddly enough, a lot of them were Yello fans.)

...downloaded one particular game off of the IF archive one year (1997 or 1998, I think). Really. I looked at the ftp stats for that year and it showed one download, the one I did. (Can't remember the name of it now. Something with numbers on the end of it.)

Well, there were actually three of us, but after hitting the bars in Nashville over the holidays we headed back to the apartment of a friend and proceeded thus:

1. Programmed the two Sony mega-changers to crossfade between 'Secret Tapes of Dr. Eich' by Paperclip People and 'Analog Worms Attack' by Mr. Oizo, one track after another in order

2. Watched 'The Neverending Story' muted with English subtitles on while listening to the results of 1, above

3. Occasionally read the dialogue off the screen to the beat of the music as if it were a freestyle

It was FUCKING WICKED, YEAH

Yanc3y: I think that your behavior is not at all uncommon in Germany (where big NBA games are televised).

I am the only person ever to be mistaken for Krist Novoselic whilst flying to LA for due diligence.
