Yep, that's the current "Big News Story" on the CNN website. And the local 11:00 news ran an extra 30 minutes to repeat information about how people need to bring in their animals, cover their plants, bring plants inside, leave water dripping in taps, and school district closings because of the "Arctic Cold." Yeah, this is Florida, but since when has 28-degrees F been considered "Arctic?" Is this an over-reaction on their part or am I just being too picky about what I consider to be news-worthy?

So what's the most worthless news you've seen covered as of late?

hey it was 70F here on monday and now it's going to be in the teens overnight. that's pretty fuckin' arctic for my tastes.

to be fair to tv news I think the term applies in general to the canadian air mass (damn canucks) that's sweeping the US. the news stories here were showing 2 foot ice floes in the boston harbor and the frozen hudson in addition to our brr temperatures, so you know. . .

*laughing* So we should blame it on the Canuks? Woo-hoo! But don't the cold air masses form over the northern Pacific (ie. Alaska?) before moving across Canada? Hmmm...and Alaska is close to Russia...that's it! It's those darn Ruskies again!

It's colder than a three legged cat trying to bury it's shit on a frozen lake!

*laughing* I like that one! The only ones I know are "Colder than a witch's tit" and "Cold enough to freeze the balls off a brass monkey" (and how disappointed I was to find-out that the latter was not a dirty thing!)
