+ pageboy hairstyle, wtf
If I remember correctly the glasses themselves don't go through the face? I thought the idea was to put rare-earth magnets under the skin, and have the lenses magnetically stuck from the outside. It seems like that would be bad for the skin in between to be compressed all day, but maybe not any more than sitting on your ass for 4 hours at a time.

affixed by magnets? that would make me worry about needles & paperclips & even the iron filings in my cornflakes flying directly at my eyes
― elmo argonaut, Tuesday, 6 May 2008 17:36 (eighteen years ago)
haha!
― rrrobyn, Tuesday, 6 May 2008 17:40 (eighteen years ago)
i see people looking stupid in glasses all the time! by choice! a lot of them are 20-something hipsters!
― rrrobyn, Tuesday, 6 May 2008 17:42 (eighteen years ago)
i was going to say! this is new thing, no?
― The Cursed Return of the Dastardly Thermo Thinwall, Tuesday, 6 May 2008 17:47 (eighteen years ago)
The idea is to affix the magnets to your bridge piercing, so no skin compression + ability to remove.
I mean, I have to admit, I'd think it were cool if it were in a PKD-inspired movie, but I can't imagine actually pulling it off.
