This is old I know, but I don't read newspapers anymore (or surf for entertainment "news") so only by watching TV tonight did I discover this bizarre story.

My. GOD!

don't people marry convicted multi-murderers so that they can demonstrate total spousal commitment and still basically walk away and not have to think abt their s/o more than one day a month?

Yes, but I still don't get the motive, why not just remain unmarried?

From now on, anytime I hear Slade (I know he wasn't in the classic line-up but still...), Gary Glitter or The Who, I will immediately think of child abuse and serial killers. Which is kinda sad, not to say disturbing.

w. girlies marrying like charles manson, i remember my friend AB saying "no i totally get that — you're other half to this SUPER-DANGEROUS = EXCITING MAN except you're in control not him, you can walk away, he can't"

The thing is, with The Who there's a lot of thematically connected material ("I'm A Boy", Tommy, etc) and so you can pretty much wallow in the tragedy of it all. But Gary Glitter!!! I mean, the "oh man, it's so sad, he's such a genius, why did he do these stupid things? Why is the world so unfair that ppl of such intellect get such desires? etc" approach just doesn't work with "Rock & Roll, Pt.2"

I keep thinkign this thread title says Danny Glover, which is even more confusing than the actual real story.

"Rock & Roll, Pt.2" is/was greBt!

...and, Mark, Rose West is not exciting. Her banality is her most striking feature.

i agree this whole story is just odd

mark s (mark s), Saturday, 25 January 2003 00:28 (twenty-three years ago)

Wouldn't it have been great if Brian Glover had joined Slade?

"Rock & Roll, Pt.2" is/was greBt!

Of course it is!! But it's not tragic

the worst thing about this is that Slade are still going without Jim Lea! can you believe that?!

Don't know if Noddy's with them anymore, either.

sorry for repeating what's already said on ILM but aren't people in this damn case supposed to speak of "SladeII", no? not just 'bout "Slade"? ain't that sort of differentiation like official or something? ("Dave Glover, Slade's bassist" just sounds absurd anyhow)

t\'\'t (t\'\'t), Sunday, 26 January 2003 03:11 (twenty-three years ago)

that CAN'T be, i mean how can they call it Slade w/out Noddy?
but i recently found out , when mickey finn died, that he'd had a so-called "T Rex" lineup going with maybe some guys who'd been in the original band at one time...wasn't there a thread on ILM about 60s & 70s bands that are still going with no original members?
