Important Announcement: The Pinefox Bowled a 91

So when we go bowling my friend M always makes sure that everyone gets an embarrassing or ridiculous name for scoring purposes. And tonight I was wearing a tie, which made me think of Gareth, but I was also wearing a tie while bowling, which made me think of the Pinefox -- so I snuck up to the high-tech scorecard and entered myself as "the Pinefox," which I'm sure was disappointing to everyone else but was hilarious to me in that someone would say "Pinefox?" and that would actually be me. For that game I bowled a 91 and a pretty weak 91 at that. But in my own defense I was wearing awfully tight pants and my bowling form was repeatedly described as "very elegant."

While we were paying, the guy at the counter was talking about the Simon and Garfunkel song that was playing and he started going off on this huge rant about how music is terrible now and Steely Dan is the last thing he liked, and then he started ragging on people "just pushing a button" like Howard Jones, and admittedly I was and am pretty drunk (obviously) because I just had to stick up for Howard Jones and the relative levels of button-pushing going on between Howard Jones and Steely Dan, of all the bands to have chosen as an alternative to pushing buttons. Artists touched upon in process included Janet Jackson, Creed, and Milli Vanilli (will people ever just let Milli Vanilli go?).

I have also reminded myself how much I enjoy being drunk in a tie, as it makes me feel like I'm in Saint Elmo's Fire.

I guess you can use this thread to talk about either bowling or Howard Jones.

I like an 8 or a 10. It's all about chucking the thing down the middle. I get very distracted by the speed analysis, and trying to bowl faster than anyone elase. My secret shame: I am very competitive.

haha. is this like a cup half full/empty type thing? c'mon, man, that 91 was strong! be positive!

one time when i was like 14 i bowled and managed to break 100. i thought that was the score to have, so i proudly went up to the counter to announce my score and gather my prize, accolades, a free game or whatever. dude was like, um no it's 300 try again kid. embarrassing. back to what i do best. getting drunk in tight pants and ties.
