gareth (gareth), Sunday, 26 January 2003 18:34 (twenty-three years ago)

well its done now man!

gareth (gareth), Sunday, 26 January 2003 18:35 (twenty-three years ago)

yes yes yes, i'd better get in (have a nasty habit of dressing inappropriately for such things ;) and it'd better be good...could be a bit of a fucker to find as well. anyone who wants to come can mail me and i'll send you a copy of their e-mail which if you print out you can get in free with. there's a map on their website too.

i wanted to go to Warm Leatherette at Herbal on Saturday - i believe its on your turf Gareth, any good?

stevem (blueski), Sunday, 26 January 2003 18:40 (twenty-three years ago)

never been to herbal!

but it sounds good. would that be better? oh, man, its your fap dude, you decide!

gareth (gareth), Sunday, 26 January 2003 18:43 (twenty-three years ago)

i meant the Saturday just gone! but its probably on every week - perhaps one for a few weeks time, Kingsland is tricky for me tho - and BDD is the epitomy of Central, so lets give that a go first.

not sure where the Glasshouses place (not been) is in relation to Infinity (BDD venue) but maybe thats a good place for people to meet beforehand? i havent stepped out in Soho for months now tho so i leave it to the more active socialites to suggest somewhere better if they so wish.

stevem (blueski), Sunday, 26 January 2003 18:49 (twenty-three years ago)

Button Down Disco it is!

no this weekend i was a little ill so i stayed in:(

gareth (gareth), Sunday, 26 January 2003 18:53 (twenty-three years ago)

Warm Leatherette appears to be monthly anyway so missed that, might go to the next one tho (end of feb/early march)

stevem (blueski), Sunday, 26 January 2003 20:05 (twenty-three years ago)

hopefully i can make this; my friend is djing at a psytrance (!) night in stratford, though, and i kinda feel i should go to that.

toby (tsg20), Sunday, 26 January 2003 21:37 (twenty-three years ago)

'fraid I am in Dublin at Weatherall/Robertson that night, shame I'm not over till the week after.

Ronan (Ronan), Sunday, 26 January 2003 21:59 (twenty-three years ago)

if its good i might go the following Saturday...or maybe not. you gonna go to The End when you're here Ronan?

stevem (blueski), Sunday, 26 January 2003 22:42 (twenty-three years ago)

My friend Phil (Philth when he gets behind the decks haha) is coming over with me and he's playing at a club night my brother and his mates do once a month in the room of some pub. I'm there thursday to saturday I think and that's the friday, if you want to come along he's a very good dj and you'd enjoy I'd say.

Ronan (Ronan), Sunday, 26 January 2003 22:44 (twenty-three years ago)

hey blueski, if you're up for the end i certainly am. actually, im going on the 21stb if you wanna come. its lazy dog, which i wouldnt normally choouse, but lucys out and shes like the most fun person of all time so give us a shout (i sghould have put this in the email i just sent to you but its just gone now and im here so...). otherwise, make alternative suggestions...

and LOST people...LOST!

I NEED TO GO TO LOST AGAIN SOON OK?

gareth (gareth), Sunday, 26 January 2003 22:51 (twenty-three years ago)

If your sendin out free promos, send some my way.I'll get 'em on the air for ya!

www.y2kpirates.co.uk

Eugene Speed (Eugene Speed), Sunday, 26 January 2003 23:26 (twenty-three years ago)

yeah i need to go to lost too. if only to erase the memories of the horrors of the last one.

toby (tsg20), Sunday, 26 January 2003 23:29 (twenty-three years ago)

sounds good Ronan, your mates come over from Ireland to play some pub in London once a month? impressive

The End....Lost...Herbal - gonna need some more weekends in february now i reckon...

but enough pretending blueski is a hardcore club caner, who else is comin out this saturday? the FAP on the 30th can be a nice warm-up you see...

stevem (blueski), Monday, 27 January 2003 01:09 (twenty-three years ago)

gareth said 'dude'

Mary (Mary), Monday, 27 January 2003 01:37 (twenty-three years ago)

haha my evil making-everyone-say-'dude!' plans are working haha

geeta (geeta), Monday, 27 January 2003 02:41 (twenty-three years ago)

rewind for the monday people

gareth (gareth), Monday, 27 January 2003 12:43 (twenty-three years ago)

What? What's all of these? ILE is wierd today. I am going to join a goth message board.

Sarah (starry), Monday, 27 January 2003 14:56 (twenty-three years ago)

goths are funny, their clothes are different from our clothes...

stevem (blueski), Monday, 27 January 2003 15:37 (twenty-three years ago)

Fapfapfapfapfap. I'm up for this, although I'm wavering a little over this Thursday as midweek drinking is the way to ruin and I'm doing far too much of it this week.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Monday, 27 January 2003 15:49 (twenty-three years ago)

Where is this 'ruin' you speak of and do they speak Spanish?

I could do with a dance but I think I'm too porky for this place. We shall see.

Tom (Groke), Monday, 27 January 2003 15:51 (twenty-three years ago)

you gotta come thursday matt - you're my anchorage...and i'll reward with you booze (or perhaps not if you're worried about that) and CDs if you do come

stevem (blueski), Monday, 27 January 2003 16:08 (twenty-three years ago)

as i said on the other thread i cant make thurs but will be out for definite on sat

gareth (gareth), Monday, 27 January 2003 16:49 (twenty-three years ago)

Steve - Okay, probably... although I suspect I'll have to shoot off early.

Where is BDD anyway?

Matt DC (Matt DC), Monday, 27 January 2003 17:54 (twenty-three years ago)

why its here party people

gareth (gareth), Monday, 27 January 2003 17:58 (twenty-three years ago)

It sounds rub!

I might go!

(Is there ANYWHERE that doesn't play "sleazy rock" these days? Ie all the dj's bring the same Peaches rekkid I am willing to bet...)

Sarah (starry), Monday, 27 January 2003 18:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Of course I will have to be a fluffy goth for the night I see!

Sarah (starry), Monday, 27 January 2003 18:01 (twenty-three years ago)

the prospect of hearing 'Lovertits', 'Crazy Horses' and 'On A Ragga Tip' under the one room/roof is strangely appealing to me

stevem (blueski), Monday, 27 January 2003 18:06 (twenty-three years ago)

crazy horses but not the other two! maybe djs take control or way in my brain tho!

gareth (gareth), Monday, 27 January 2003 18:09 (twenty-three years ago)

also blueski if yr still after the audio bullys album i've just this second finished getting it off slsk so can do you a copy for thursday if you wish...

and what's wrong with sl2 gareth?

toby (tsg20), Monday, 27 January 2003 18:10 (twenty-three years ago)

Hey hearing all THREE of those is grebt by me! Due to knackered CD player I have been listening to RAVE ON a lot, especially ON A RAGGA TIP, I ph34r the urban ways of SL2 mightily.

Oh actually I don't know what er ... "lovertits" is, is it SLEAZY ROCK?

Sarah (starry), Monday, 27 January 2003 18:12 (twenty-three years ago)

it's peaches.

toby (tsg20), Monday, 27 January 2003 18:14 (twenty-three years ago)

nothing wrong with sl2! as i said...way in my brain or djs take control are fine

gareth (gareth), Monday, 27 January 2003 18:16 (twenty-three years ago)

hehe, they really did just do THREE tracks and that was it wasnt it

stevem (blueski), Monday, 27 January 2003 19:32 (twenty-three years ago)

Nah my brother and his mates live in London!

Ronan (Ronan), Monday, 27 January 2003 20:13 (twenty-three years ago)

ah well, that makes much more sense - where's the pub they play?

stevem (blueski), Monday, 27 January 2003 20:19 (twenty-three years ago)

I have to find out! Also a rare opportunity to see me play some cds. But I reckon I don't get to play anything huge cos all my favourite records are the ones Phil plays.

Ronan (Ronan), Monday, 27 January 2003 21:35 (twenty-three years ago)

i hope its in Loughborough - maybe the Jaxx will turn up, hehe

stevem (blueski), Monday, 27 January 2003 23:30 (twenty-three years ago)

steve, dont forget their remix of hypnosis, by psychotropic

gareth (gareth), Tuesday, 28 January 2003 10:35 (twenty-three years ago)

That's staggering distance from the Glasshouse Stores, but I've now been there four times in the past week and a half, so could probably do with a change if a pub hasn't yet been decided.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Tuesday, 28 January 2003 10:46 (twenty-three years ago)

i thought that said "a staggering distance from GHS" like it was in putney or something...

i might be up for this actually, mypete's coming down for late 30th birthday celebrations, and he likes a good disco :)

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Tuesday, 28 January 2003 11:28 (twenty-three years ago)

Everyone please wear buttoned down shirts and take pictures!

Mary (Mary), Tuesday, 28 January 2003 23:56 (twenty-three years ago)

Hello... pub, people? PUB?!

Matt DC (Matt DC), Friday, 31 January 2003 14:21 (twenty-three years ago)

yeh, someone suggest a pub thats no more than 5 mins from Old Burlington St in 'Mayfair' - we can all meet there maybe, its dead casual like tho - probably wont head for the club itself til 11 at the earliest, depending on who's got to head back early that is (could go to club earlier as they have cheap drinks promos up to 10.30pm)

again, mail me for their e-mail which you can get in free with if you print it out - i'll print a few copies for the night anyway

stevem (blueski), Friday, 31 January 2003 14:28 (twenty-three years ago)

how about at the end next time?

gareth (gareth), Friday, 31 January 2003 15:18 (twenty-three years ago)

I want to know what Lost is.

We were talking last night about how you could essentially play that lot in a row and STILL be an indie-disco deep down. Tis true...

Matt DC (Matt DC), Friday, 31 January 2003 15:20 (twenty-three years ago)

dude it was your choice, dont start with the anitpathy;)

nah i'm lookin forward to it, maybe they get a bit heavier later on anyway

we gonna meet in Glasshouse Stores or whut?

not sure about Lost yet btw, keep pestering me about it tho

stevem (blueski), Friday, 31 January 2003 15:26 (twenty-three years ago)

RickyT (RickyT), Friday, 31 January 2003 15:33 (twenty-three years ago)

gareth (gareth), Friday, 31 January 2003 15:39 (twenty-three years ago)

gareth (gareth), Friday, 31 January 2003 15:39 (twenty-three years ago)

i am a boom tho, you may lower me to pick up people's voices better as you wish

stevem (blueski), Friday, 31 January 2003 15:42 (twenty-three years ago)

I do not understand most of this thread

Sarah (starry), Friday, 31 January 2003 15:46 (twenty-three years ago)

jeff mills aka agent hacker
steve bicknell aka agent london
ethan padgett aka agent trife

One of these is not true, is it?

Matt DC (Matt DC), Friday, 31 January 2003 15:52 (twenty-three years ago)

yeh, ethan padgett can't be a real name

stevem (blueski), Friday, 31 January 2003 16:00 (twenty-three years ago)

ok well meet when and where?

gareth (gareth), Friday, 31 January 2003 16:06 (twenty-three years ago)

Glasshouse Stores appears convenient, and most of the other pubs round there are RUBBISH. Glasshouse from 7.30ish then?

Please feel free to insert "Not the Glasshouse Stores again" comments here...

Matt DC (Matt DC), Friday, 31 January 2003 16:13 (twenty-three years ago)

yeh Glasshouse i guess, but i'm open to other suggestions

stevem (blueski), Friday, 31 January 2003 16:31 (twenty-three years ago)

toby gee, sarah, tom e and carsmilesteve will you be guys be joining us? anyone else?

stevem (blueski), Friday, 31 January 2003 16:32 (twenty-three years ago)

Wd love to but will be in the provinces.

Tim (Tim), Friday, 31 January 2003 16:34 (twenty-three years ago)

i need to double check with mypete about what time he's getting down, but i certainly have every intention of popping along. GHS is fine :)

also early doors to club sounds good to me, and that is definately an indie disco setlist ;)

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Friday, 31 January 2003 16:44 (twenty-three years ago)

I am trying to arrange to drag some friends to this. I hope I see someone I recognise from a FAP! If you see someone who is 6'7" tall, that's my brother Rob. Say hello to him and freak him out.

Sam (chirombo), Friday, 31 January 2003 16:47 (twenty-three years ago)

of course its indie, no one ever said it wasnt!

stevem, the cdrs ive done you are a mix of mp3s and wmas. are wmas ok with you?

gareth (gareth), Friday, 31 January 2003 16:48 (twenty-three years ago)

just in case dudes...

http://www.norfolkwindmills.com/images/me01.jpg

gareth (gareth), Friday, 31 January 2003 16:49 (twenty-three years ago)

Mmm, Rob will be freaked out...

Sam (chirombo), Friday, 31 January 2003 16:51 (twenty-three years ago)

Hey I'm not very hip, what should I wear? (esp on feet?)

Sam (chirombo), Friday, 31 January 2003 16:58 (twenty-three years ago)

Oxfords, shoes & shirts! (See the preppy S/D thread for more details.)

Mary (Mary), Saturday, 1 February 2003 06:34 (twenty-three years ago)

i'm still v much in two minds about this - am going to laze around on the sofa all day, i think, and see how i feel this eve.

toby (tsg20), Saturday, 1 February 2003 09:09 (twenty-three years ago)

I'm going to see the Rezillos tonight. I realised when I mentioned this to Anna on Thursday that their last good album was probably made before she was born!

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Saturday, 1 February 2003 12:33 (twenty-three years ago)

i should be in the Glasshouse by 8.30pm - will try and get there earlier tho - i THINK i know where it is...

stevem (blueski), Saturday, 1 February 2003 12:49 (twenty-three years ago)

itll be 830 for me also. the cdrs are done!

gareth (gareth), Saturday, 1 February 2003 13:29 (twenty-three years ago)

beware steve, GHS has been known to become invisible on occasions...

the inevitable fancyapint link

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Saturday, 1 February 2003 13:59 (twenty-three years ago)

well i'm headin down to deepest darkest south east london now so i think i'll have a walk round to Charing Cross via Mayfair and scope out the venue and the GHS itself to avoid disorientation later on

2 CD-Rs for you gareth too, you luck boy - and you Matt DC if you're reading

see you tonight! i'll be wearing a stupidly big dark blue coat with one of those awful fake fur hoods if that helps

stevem (blueski), Saturday, 1 February 2003 14:39 (twenty-three years ago)

The club was good when we got there but went rubbish and we left. My crush is probably being fondled by an ugly floppy haired boy right now. I wish him only bad luck in life. I think she liked me though.

I am very very drunk.Does anyone want a kiss or a snog? I am very very drunk and easy.

Graham (graham), Sunday, 2 February 2003 01:52 (twenty-three years ago)

No one wants a snog?

Graham (graham), Sunday, 2 February 2003 02:45 (twenty-three years ago)

What is the difference between a kiss and a snog?

Mary (Mary), Sunday, 2 February 2003 02:53 (twenty-three years ago)

A kiss is just a kiss. I believe I've kissed your hand.

A snog involves mutual lips and more time, with tongue options.

Graham (graham), Sunday, 2 February 2003 02:54 (twenty-three years ago)

The pub was great... the club considerably less so.

Steve's mix CD (the one I've listened to at any rate), on the other hand, is fucking awesome. Except possibly that synth version of Jerusalem... what on earth possessed you? Still, any chance of a tracklisting?

Matt DC (Matt DC), Monday, 3 February 2003 09:10 (twenty-three years ago)

The club was good before 12 I thought. (Although Gareth said it was a "a bit Camden".) It was great to meet you all, however briefly, but I'm afraid I found it too loud to have a chat.

Who was your crush Graham? The one you were sitting next to?

Sam (chirombo), Monday, 3 February 2003 09:15 (twenty-three years ago)

the club was pretty bad i thought:(

and i was a little under the weather, so now my usual self. but the pub was good

gareth (gareth), Monday, 3 February 2003 09:26 (twenty-three years ago)

yeah, it wasn't fantastic or anything and also *heaving*, but i've been to worse :) not sure about their "no requests" policy either, how difficult is it to say, "no, i haven't got it mate"?

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Monday, 3 February 2003 09:53 (twenty-three years ago)

oh and stevem, they did do one other track. drumbeats!

gareth (gareth), Monday, 3 February 2003 09:55 (twenty-three years ago)

WHen I Dj when someone asks for a request I dutifully get it out of my bag and then snap the vinyl infront of their pathetic faces.

Once a bit of rogue shrapnel took out someones eye. Now he looks like Momus.

Pete (Pete), Monday, 3 February 2003 11:14 (twenty-three years ago)

Carsmile do you think we could do better? ;)

Sorry not to make it - that playlist looks good apart from all the Peaches, Make-Up, Bis rubbish. Isabel was poorly with the cold that's going round so I was nursing her instead of bopping.

Tom (Groke), Monday, 3 February 2003 11:19 (twenty-three years ago)

i think they played a Bis track, and i liked it (!)

agree with everyone else, club was disappointing in that it just didnt deliver what it promised, or what it COULD promise...unimaginative DJ, weird (or pehaps not weird enough) clientele. that example tracklisting was all BEFORE 12 tho apparently so hmmmm, i'd go again in a month or so maybe tho, see if there's any improvement (unlikely i suppose, bah - shouldve known, it was in the West End after all) - thanks for coming out tho those who did, was good meeting you all

dunno who Graham's crush was but he kept shooting off in crazy fashion somewhere or other every now and then, but he was sitting next to my gurlfren for a bit so now i'm worried ;)

stevem (blueski), Monday, 3 February 2003 11:57 (twenty-three years ago)

yo what about electric stew?

gareth (gareth), Monday, 3 February 2003 11:58 (twenty-three years ago)

how's that 'Sound Of Eden' working out for you gareth? not too scratchy i hope? thanks for the CDs

stevem (blueski), Monday, 3 February 2003 12:16 (twenty-three years ago)

Yeah the girl I was sitting next to was Stevem's girlf, though she is a bit of a dish (can I say that?).

My crush = tall girl in silvery grey top (with v shaped neckline at the back and front) with blonde hair slightly shorter than mine. Me sitting next to her, yeah right. I probably kept getting up to see if she was dancing with boyz yet.

As we were leaving I tpapped her on the shoulder, waved and she said hello and then I left. It was better than doing nothing, alright?

Graham (graham), Monday, 3 February 2003 18:02 (twenty-three years ago)

Oh cripes this happened! Sorry, I'm an ill bunny and it totally slipped my mind. Hope you chaps had a good time although it seemed somewhat disappointing...

Sarah ill (Groke), Monday, 3 February 2003 18:46 (twenty-three years ago)
