Leaving England: An Ongoing Farce

I figure venting my spleen a bit will relieve some of the stress I've been feeling lately. Basically, I've been trying to leave London since last Monday to visit my mum in Florida. (Actually, I must leave anyway as my time here has to be renewed.)

Basically, everything that could have gone wrong, has: 1)Though I was due to leave on the 20th, couldn't book a ticket by the time I was able to cash my paycheck; 2)On to the 24th (the first day I was able to make a reservation for, as most of the flights I'd found were ridiculously expensive); 3) Though my relatives offered to help me buy it, no one had available cash to lend me (til Monday) to buy a ticket. (Or so they said.) Through marathon phone calls through the weekend, I _finally_ found an affordable flight via British Airways (going through Heathrow.)

Monday came, and my younger uncle (also my roommate) went to get the cash from his bank. (He was given a Bankers Draft on Thursday from someone, but the foolish person misspelled his name. The bank had to go through an entire process to put the cash into his acct.)

[I'd had to reschedule the same ticket twice already, but we may need to do it again today: the flight leaves at 1 PM, but the bank _still_won't release his money; he went to get more owed cash from _another_ person quick as possible---while I'm doing this.] 1 PM (UK time) is the latest that flights leave here to reach the States by nightfall.

I've been really stressed out, as I miss Mum terribly, and would like to see her now---as I know it will make her happy. The kidney situation she's been living with is enough to depress anyone. (Added to this, the atmosphere I've been living in has been stressful for a long while).

Tis all, but things must get better. I can only hope. With any luck, I'll be there by the time you read this.

Ta for listening.

Nicole, this is CRAZY! I thought you were gone weeks ago! iF this were the States, you could sue the fuckers. Gah. Funny cause my friend Cat just bought air tickets online one day, and literally left for the states, like, three days later. Didn't realise she was even planning to go until she mailed me from there!
