would you like to lose weight?

I know I would. I was bemoaning my non-svelte self yesterday. There is nothing for it - I'll just have to start raving again.

DV (dirtyvicar), Wednesday, 29 January 2003 11:30 (twenty-three years ago)

I'd like to lose about 15 kilos, just to see if I could do it (also image problems, of course), though I'm pretty happy that despite my unhealthy eating etc habits I seem stuck on 70 kg.

Andrew Thames (Andrew Thames), Wednesday, 29 January 2003 11:35 (twenty-three years ago)

Yes, but I figure living on the second floor will do this for me.

Graham (graham), Wednesday, 29 January 2003 11:48 (twenty-three years ago)

here's the ILE diet support thread

raving was the most effective and most fun way to lose weight evah. one does tend to pack it on again when one stops raving, though.

rener (rener), Wednesday, 29 January 2003 12:00 (twenty-three years ago)

id rather not lose any weight!

gareth (gareth), Wednesday, 29 January 2003 12:36 (twenty-three years ago)

You can have some of mine, if you'd like.

RickyT (RickyT), Wednesday, 29 January 2003 12:38 (twenty-three years ago)

I need to lose weight, a few more stone and I'll look like Matthew Perry.

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Wednesday, 29 January 2003 12:40 (twenty-three years ago)

I would like to gain about 5-10kg. I don't think I can, though. That would require exercise.

Andrew (enneff), Wednesday, 29 January 2003 12:50 (twenty-three years ago)

I don't know if I've lost any weight since I was on the diet thread (my scale at home is def broken) but the other day this guy that owns my favorite guitar shop said I was looking very svelte. Of course, his favorite drink is a Slim Fast with rum in it. :)

Sarah McLusky (coco), Wednesday, 29 January 2003 13:30 (twenty-three years ago)

Yes. I gained 5 kilos and I do not want them. I have tried to return to but I can't remembah where I got'em from. heh

nathalie (nathalie), Wednesday, 29 January 2003 13:56 (twenty-three years ago)

Being in your early 20's as oppsoed to early 30's is a great way to be thinner. However its a bit less practical than cycling to work every day come rain or shine.

tigerclawskank, Wednesday, 29 January 2003 15:11 (twenty-three years ago)

Crikey yes definitely. Diet has gone down pan since illness. Back on from today. As always the problem is BOOZE. It's ridiculous. There is so MUCH to me and it shouldn't be there at all. *curses*

Sarah (starry), Wednesday, 29 January 2003 15:14 (twenty-three years ago)

No. I'm a pretty horrible shape, but weight has nothing to do with it.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Wednesday, 29 January 2003 18:49 (twenty-three years ago)

no no no no no. if i lost weight, i wouldn't fit my beautiful crimplene-n-lurex frock collection anymore. and anyway, i like my curviture.

di smith (lucylurex), Wednesday, 29 January 2003 22:26 (twenty-three years ago)

hmm.. I thought this said 'who would you like to lose weight?'

N. (nickdastoor), Wednesday, 29 January 2003 23:28 (twenty-three years ago)

only a few pounds, if i lose 5 pounds my stomach will be more or less flat and i will have a much better time prom dress shopping.

wow that's probably the dumbest sounding post i've ever made! i'm perversely proud.

Maria (Maria), Wednesday, 29 January 2003 23:30 (twenty-three years ago)

I'm trying to gain 100 lbs. or a least have more than a 29 inch waist

A Nairn (moretap), Wednesday, 29 January 2003 23:38 (twenty-three years ago)

nancy is making me feel bad for trying to lose weight

jess (dubplatestyle), Wednesday, 29 January 2003 23:41 (twenty-three years ago)

one month passes...
My ex-boss saw me today and she asked, "SARAH?! Did you lose a lot of weight??"
And the other day I got to wear my favorite jeans that haven't fit in a couple of years.
WOO HOO!!!!!! HURRAH!H!!!
And I don't have an eating disorder!

Sarah McLusky (coco), Friday, 28 February 2003 21:24 (twenty-three years ago)

YAY SARAH!!! I haven't tried on too many of my old clothes, yet, but I do like that the jeans I bought in October will wall down all on their own if I don't wear a belt.

Bryan (Bryan), Friday, 28 February 2003 22:09 (twenty-three years ago)

I'd still like to lose about a stone and a half. But I like food and beer too much.

Nick Southall (Nick Southall), Friday, 28 February 2003 23:24 (twenty-three years ago)

six years pass...

how do i do this without changing my shitty, suicidal lifestyle?

strongohulkingtonsghost, Tuesday, 15 September 2009 16:34 (sixteen years ago)

I might suggest changing your lifestyle and then, not only will you likely lose weight, there could perhaps be other benefits as well.

dr. johnson (askance johnson), Tuesday, 15 September 2009 16:40 (sixteen years ago)

monitor your calories. eat 5x day. you can still eat a lot, just pay more attention to the content? but that probably doesn't fit in either.

And I find myself shouting... BHOOT!!! BHOOT!!! (tehresa), Tuesday, 15 September 2009 16:42 (sixteen years ago)

I recently gave up drinking booze during the week, we will see how this works out.

Stop eating bread.

\(^o\) (/o^)/ (ENBB), Tuesday, 15 September 2009 20:06 (sixteen years ago)

bread is kind of useless if you would like to lose weight

dan m, Tuesday, 15 September 2009 20:06 (sixteen years ago)

xp - I would guess that he goes out and eats and doesn't have the sauce (which, if it's highly-processed, probably tastes like ass anyway). If you're eating at 'good' places, eating healthy isn't that hard. Everyone has steamed veggies, meat and salad. 'Foodie' cooking is, itself, pretty healthy.

ice cr?m paint job (milo z), Tuesday, 15 September 2009 20:07 (sixteen years ago)

I don't get it. What is wrong with the calories in bread?

― bamcquern, Tuesday, September 15, 2009 3:05 PM (23 seconds ago) Bookmark

You guys are just effing with me.

Don't want to lose weight.

bamcquern, Tuesday, 15 September 2009 20:07 (sixteen years ago)

bamcquern, there are calories in bread, with little to no nutritional value. there's no nutrients. it's empty. devoid of anything.

you want to eat moderate amounts of nutrient DENSE foods to stay healthy.

cutty, Tuesday, 15 September 2009 20:07 (sixteen years ago)

bread is useful for losing weight, if you're using it replace doritos, pringles, and other greasy snack food.

this is a good point - from the materialistic outlook pleasure is derived from having things like fancy shoes or decadent food - imo disciplined action is actually a more effective cause of happiness than owning anything in particular

of course people can get v strange and materialistic abt their disciplines - see the typical health freak stereotype - if one can keep from being dogmatic and uptight abt it eating healthy and getting tons of exercise is prob quite joyful

ice cr?m, Tuesday, 15 September 2009 20:20 (sixteen years ago)

miss september is leann from egg harbor, nj. she is a blonde who looks like she doesn't eat too many sandwiches.

call all destroyer, Tuesday, 15 September 2009 20:21 (sixteen years ago)

well after dating a guy that has his own personal trainer and thinks its okay to comment on my "flabbyness" when im naked has kind of modivated me to work out.

hondurian, Tuesday, 15 September 2009 20:22 (sixteen years ago)

yeah i should note that up until about july i was walking like 6 to 10 miles daily, working out, and generally watching what i eat. i DO feel like shit since i stopped. but it's become one of those "have to get over the hump of not wanting to start again" deals.

strongohulkingtonsghost, Tuesday, 15 September 2009 20:23 (sixteen years ago)
