jess: i should be mean/fair now and post an "overrated ilx'ers" thread.
jess: "where do i begin?"
geeta: no, dude, come on
geeta: PLUR!!

jess (dubplatestyle), Wednesday, 29 January 2003 17:05 (twenty-three years ago)

don't be pussies now

jess (dubplatestyle), Wednesday, 29 January 2003 17:07 (twenty-three years ago)

Me, of course. But don't worry, the Nediverse can take it. *lower lip trembles*

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 29 January 2003 17:08 (twenty-three years ago)

i think jess is totally overrated

geeta (geeta), Wednesday, 29 January 2003 17:09 (twenty-three years ago)

Me too. I'll second you, Ned, if you second me.

Sean Carruthers (SeanC), Wednesday, 29 January 2003 17:10 (twenty-three years ago)

i think geeta is a filthy hippy

encouraging lord custos ironically is a bad idea methinks

jess (dubplatestyle), Wednesday, 29 January 2003 17:11 (twenty-three years ago)

I'll second you, Ned, if you second me.

Easily done, you back-bacon-loving, Tim-Horton's-coffee-dribbling, hockey-addled hoser.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 29 January 2003 17:11 (twenty-three years ago)

Though I am not thinking of anyone specific right now (seriously!), I tend to think that people who have reputations for being quite brilliant but whose posts derail threads and mock them, well, that just sucks.
I am not asserting that all posts to all threads whould be pertinent (jokes are not bad things, nor is simple conversation), but, well, mayeb you get my point and I will just shut it!

Aaron Grossman (aajjgg), Wednesday, 29 January 2003 17:13 (twenty-three years ago)

I think Ned gets all the praise he deserves.

Andrew (enneff), Wednesday, 29 January 2003 17:14 (twenty-three years ago)

anyone in the top20 posters?

gareth (gareth), Wednesday, 29 January 2003 17:15 (twenty-three years ago)

i'm 18th on ILE and 4th on ILM - that is so wrong, 95% of my posts are completely irrelevant and mind-numbingly trivial :(

stevem (blueski), Wednesday, 29 January 2003 17:17 (twenty-three years ago)

I overrate all ILXors. I really don't have anything against anyone. I have been shot down by a few, but it usually doesn't get messy and then I end up forgetting who said what anyway.

I'm one of those look at the bright side kind of people I guess. I always assume the best.

Sarah McLusky (coco), Wednesday, 29 January 2003 17:29 (twenty-three years ago)

have you ever over-ate?

stevem (blueski), Wednesday, 29 January 2003 17:30 (twenty-three years ago)

Last night I ate too many nachos. Yuck.

Sarah McLusky (coco), Wednesday, 29 January 2003 17:31 (twenty-three years ago)

Anyone who has at least one entire thread devoted to him/herself and did not start it him/herself is totally overrated.

Sarah McLusky (coco), Wednesday, 29 January 2003 17:38 (twenty-three years ago)

:(

mark s (mark s), Wednesday, 29 January 2003 17:39 (twenty-three years ago)

It just means you're popular!

Sarah McLusky (coco), Wednesday, 29 January 2003 17:39 (twenty-three years ago)

like doomie!

Julio Desouza (jdesouza), Wednesday, 29 January 2003 17:42 (twenty-three years ago)

I wish I was overrated...

Sarah McLusky (coco), Wednesday, 29 January 2003 17:57 (twenty-three years ago)

sarah mclusky

Julio Desouza (jdesouza), Wednesday, 29 January 2003 18:02 (twenty-three years ago)

How exactly are we meant to be able to tell which ILX people are over- or under- or non-rated? I always think everyone just politely ignores me, but then I logged onto the ILM soulseek room the other day and people were like "ooo, a regular."

nabisco (nabisco), Wednesday, 29 January 2003 18:12 (twenty-three years ago)

Also for instance I think of Ms. McLusty as like half of the tone of ILE lately and even have a hilarious nickname for her: she's not bubbling under in my world.

nabisco (nabisco), Wednesday, 29 January 2003 18:14 (twenty-three years ago)

"ILM soulseek room"????????

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Wednesday, 29 January 2003 18:14 (twenty-three years ago)

nabisco I speak for a few regulars when I say that your posts are some of the most well-reasoned on the board. Your are like a surgeon sometimes, making the smallest and most important dissections with easy grace. Ignored? Bah! I am disheartened when you don't show up to the threads I start!

Aaron Grossman (aajjgg), Wednesday, 29 January 2003 18:15 (twenty-three years ago)

not guilty.

jel -- (jel), Wednesday, 29 January 2003 18:15 (twenty-three years ago)

Thanks, A: clearly I am indeed overrated.

Tracer: on soulseek, the file-sharing deal, someone started an ILM room, wherein nobody talks but you're sure to find someone with any track you might happen to be looking for by e.g. MC Pitman or Metro Area.

nabisco (nabisco), Wednesday, 29 January 2003 18:17 (twenty-three years ago)

mitch is totally fucking overrated

jess (dubplatestyle), Wednesday, 29 January 2003 18:20 (twenty-three years ago)

Im the most completely fairly rated poster on here. Almost, one might say, to the point of anonymity. Beat that.

Nordicskillz (Nordicskillz), Wednesday, 29 January 2003 20:04 (twenty-three years ago)

So who's doing the rating anyway? The FBI? CIA? UN? World Bank? The Club of Rome? Interpol?

nickalicious (nickalicious), Wednesday, 29 January 2003 20:10 (twenty-three years ago)

The American Idol judges.

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Wednesday, 29 January 2003 20:14 (twenty-three years ago)

Interpol is overrated.

Aaron Grossman (aajjgg), Wednesday, 29 January 2003 22:01 (twenty-three years ago)

Hurrah -- my brief and inexplicable moment in the top50 has come to its happy end!

Mary (Mary), Wednesday, 29 January 2003 22:03 (twenty-three years ago)

I like Hot Chocolate but I fear they will never be known more for that one song.

jel -- (jel), Wednesday, 29 January 2003 22:04 (twenty-three years ago)

Wait -- Gareth's saying dude and Geeta's saying PLUR are these two okay? Have they switched identities?

Mary (Mary), Wednesday, 29 January 2003 22:04 (twenty-three years ago)

So who's doing the rating anyway? The FBI? CIA? UN? World Bank? The Club of Rome? Interpol?

This is the Nediverse -- who do you think?

j.lu (j.lu), Wednesday, 29 January 2003 22:04 (twenty-three years ago)

I like Hot Chocolate but I fear they will never be known more THAN for that one song. (I knew missed something)

jel -- (jel), Wednesday, 29 January 2003 22:06 (twenty-three years ago)

i get "everyones a winner" and "it started with a kiss" in my head before you sexy thing.

di smith (lucylurex), Wednesday, 29 January 2003 22:17 (twenty-three years ago)

I don't like it when people pithy messages to threads about musicians/things they hate, not to contribute, but just to cut down. I think I've done this one or two times, and I apologize--but some people do this as a matter of habit. It's boring. I suppose you know who you are.

Amateurist (amateurist), Thursday, 30 January 2003 03:54 (twenty-three years ago)

That should read "people post pithy messages...." I also hate it when people don't proofread their messages before posting them. I am now beating myself with a stick.

Amateurist (amateurist), Thursday, 30 January 2003 03:55 (twenty-three years ago)

This is the Nediverse -- who do you think?

*looks up from calculations* Wait, what? I was invoked?

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 30 January 2003 04:42 (twenty-three years ago)

What happens when you say Ned's name three time?

Chris P (Chris P), Thursday, 30 January 2003 05:03 (twenty-three years ago)

I turn into a pile of hay.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 30 January 2003 05:04 (twenty-three years ago)

Instead of a pile of hair?

Chris P (Chris P), Thursday, 30 January 2003 05:05 (twenty-three years ago)

How can I turn into something I've already got?

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 30 January 2003 05:32 (twenty-three years ago)

No, no, from a pile of hair into a pile of hay. I knew that wasn't going to be clear enough when I wrote it.

(Hm, I wonder if this post is going to kill this thread.)

Chris P (Chris P), Thursday, 30 January 2003 07:05 (twenty-three years ago)
