Graham, Tom, etcetera (in fact, as far as gathering opinions goes, EVERYONE), is it now time to ban BL's IP address if possible? Or delete her threads? I'm particularly not keen on the BL, MarkH, and me tryst being played out on an adjacent thread.

Nick Southall (Nick Southall), Thursday, 30 January 2003 10:51 (twenty-three years ago)

I second that Nick. I was having fun arguing with her but that thread is a step too far!

MarkH (MarkH), Thursday, 30 January 2003 10:56 (twenty-three years ago)

Not that you're not an attractive man, MarkH, you understand!

Nick Southall (Nick Southall), Thursday, 30 January 2003 10:56 (twenty-three years ago)

Yeah, BL is getting out of hand.

smee (smee), Thursday, 30 January 2003 10:56 (twenty-three years ago)

at least lock and delete that thread but we all have to ignore her (unless she actually posts something that is worth responding to)...she'll either get bored and leave or she'll act nicer in the future.

Julio Desouza (jdesouza), Thursday, 30 January 2003 10:58 (twenty-three years ago)

Nick, You being a pussy now, over a 3 some fantasy I cleverly invented, what's wrong, Your balls got twisted, or You just can't handle the equal ammount of crap you are willing to dish out? There is such a thing as freedom of speech, besides I had no idea your name was also 'Nick Southall' LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL
Don't cry Nick, I am going to make tommorows episode just as *fun*

becky lucas (becky_lucas), Thursday, 30 January 2003 10:59 (twenty-three years ago)

Every culture gets the drugs, the government and the TROLLS they deserve.

kate, Thursday, 30 January 2003 11:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I think we should report her to her ISP. She almost certainly contravenes any reasonable AUP. Aside from that we should all just ignore it. (Don't rattle the bars of the monkey cage). We could lock a few troublesome threads but that would just rile I think.

Ed (dali), Thursday, 30 January 2003 11:00 (twenty-three years ago)

There's discussion about this on 12 Ft Lizards, by the way.

Tom (Groke), Thursday, 30 January 2003 11:01 (twenty-three years ago)

How do I sign up, Tom?

Nick Southall (Nick Southall), Thursday, 30 January 2003 11:02 (twenty-three years ago)

By the way Mark,Nick said in an IM that he wouldn't mind sucking on your smelly weenie...he says You are quite the "Mans man" which to be honest, I have no clue what he meant, bu by the massive ammounts of m's in the IM , I am sure his purple custard slinger was spewing chunkloads of creamy gooey stuff on his keyboard.

becky lucas (becky_lucas), Thursday, 30 January 2003 11:02 (twenty-three years ago)

There's a link at the top of NYLPM Nick.

From the FAQ:

"Personal threads. If a thread is started discussing a registered user or their actions, that user has the right to ask for it to be deleted or locked. The thread does not have to be an attack on the user. This does not apply to threads users start themselves and later regret."

So the Becky Lucas threads can be deleted if Becky wants, and the 3some thread can go if you want.

Tom (Groke), Thursday, 30 January 2003 11:03 (twenty-three years ago)

You tits are fun, I love it, I fucking LOVE it!

becky lucas (becky_lucas), Thursday, 30 January 2003 11:04 (twenty-three years ago)

Yeah, can we lose it please Tom?

Nick Southall (Nick Southall), Thursday, 30 January 2003 11:05 (twenty-three years ago)

Tom, See, I wouldn't ask for the threads that talk bollox about me to be deleted, because it just isn't worth it to take a few hours of entertainment away from people, and I am not bothered by it, infact I love it when people talk about me, because it shows what little babies they are when it comes to what's being talked about them,or when they get the old backlash at them, and I have proven my point time and time again on here about how people can be little shites and want to talk utter bollox about me, when it comes to them being talked about well, we know where *they* cry to.

becky lucas (becky_lucas), Thursday, 30 January 2003 11:08 (twenty-three years ago)

well, well. The internet strikes again.
I don't think a forum exists without the traditional attack of some bored skool kid every now and again, or some sex-starved geek (which is what I'm guessing this person is, looking at the length of time that they're logged in).

To [email protected]: I've seen it all before, and I've seen it done better and more entertaining btw, now its just boring. This is the only post I will write relating to you.

To Moderator: Zap it please

Fuzzy (Fuzzy), Thursday, 30 January 2003 11:09 (twenty-three years ago)

which is what I'm guessing this person is, looking at the length of time that they're logged in

hey - don't pick on me!

N. (nickdastoor), Thursday, 30 January 2003 11:10 (twenty-three years ago)

Tom, so basically this is going to be like the moderator of the "Joe Millionare" official boards where the moderator deletes nearly everyones post who speaks negatively about the contestants?
Nick, because of You everyone who is 'talked about' the way they do not like, are going to be doing the same thing, and ask for deletions and then nothing is going to make any sense, why don't you just leave then Nick?Since you can't handle this site.

becky lucas (becky_lucas), Thursday, 30 January 2003 11:13 (twenty-three years ago)

i never thought i'd say this, but Tom/Graham etc please IP ban becky. it's just tiresome. sad

Alan (Alan), Thursday, 30 January 2003 11:16 (twenty-three years ago)

The thing is, becky, I've actually barely been involved in any of the threads about or from you, largely due to most of the 'fun' occuring yesterday when I was off-work with a dodgy knee and therefore off-line most of the day. Therefore I was rather surprised to see myself utilised in one of your bizarre fantasies, hence, I would like it removed. Arguments and debates I have no problem with, personal abuse, slaggings and salacious fictions I do have a problem with. It is not I who have a problem with this forum, it is you. After everyone goes through the initial "getting-to-grips-with-the-fact-that-these-are-real-people" period, everyone who uses ilxor seems to be perfectly reasonable, mature and open to humour and debate.

Nick Southall (Nick Southall), Thursday, 30 January 2003 11:17 (twenty-three years ago)

Everyone?

Mark C (Mark C), Thursday, 30 January 2003 11:23 (twenty-three years ago)

Everyone except you, obviously.

Lara (Lara), Thursday, 30 January 2003 11:26 (twenty-three years ago)

Nick, that's not a good excuse, You are being a big baby, dodgey knee my fucking eye,You seem to have a problem with EVERYTHING you say you *don't* have a problem with, Most of you all want my username banned from here simply because you can't handle the massive ammounts of verbal type I put on here, There is no other reason, It all started with that RJG pussy calling me a 'fat 40 year old bloke' and I made my point, without getting all "go ban his fucking name, his hands from a keyboard" etc etc bollox.
I have put up with alot of abuse from alot of people and It's only fair for everybody else to take what they willingly want to dish out.
Nick the only reason why You are being a whiney stupid cunt is because You don't want to look as stupid as You already do on here.
I didn't have not ONE enemy when I came here, one motherfucker goes typey typey and (RJG) has made it possible for everyone to be against me, now how fair is that? but you don't see me saying "delete all the posts about me"
Nick, Mark, and everyone else on here who act like pussies when the tables are turned....Get a fucking life, and stay off the net if you can't handle it when the going gets tough.

becky lucas (becky_lucas), Thursday, 30 January 2003 11:27 (twenty-three years ago)

*puts black silk square on head*

Mark C (Mark C), Thursday, 30 January 2003 11:28 (twenty-three years ago)

I'm interested to know precisely how much personal abuse I dished out in your direction.

Nick Southall (Nick Southall), Thursday, 30 January 2003 11:30 (twenty-three years ago)

I like how if you insult BL once she insults you a hundred times--except your insult is better than all hers combined

the wetback (M Matos), Thursday, 30 January 2003 11:32 (twenty-three years ago)

I'm interested to know precisely where Mark C got his black silk square.

Lara (Lara), Thursday, 30 January 2003 11:33 (twenty-three years ago)

Go eat a taco, wetback!

becky lucas (becky_lucas), Thursday, 30 January 2003 11:34 (twenty-three years ago)

yummy! I love tacos! keep 'em coming!

M Matos (M Matos), Thursday, 30 January 2003 11:34 (twenty-three years ago)

Nick, a fair bit, you mother fucker, now, go get the other thread about you deleted as well you mong. You know, the one where it says you are GAY AND PROUD :)

becky lucas (becky_lucas), Thursday, 30 January 2003 11:35 (twenty-three years ago)

He's Al Q, Lara, didn't you know?

suzy (suzy), Thursday, 30 January 2003 11:36 (twenty-three years ago)

I am gay and proud.

toraneko (toraneko), Thursday, 30 January 2003 11:37 (twenty-three years ago)

Ah, M Matos, You are a bloody FAT wetback too. *giggles*

becky lucas (becky_lucas), Thursday, 30 January 2003 11:37 (twenty-three years ago)

Lara, I'm beginning to feel persecuted! It's just an old silk square I had lying about, and I think it looks kinda cool.

Mark C (Mark C), Thursday, 30 January 2003 11:38 (twenty-three years ago)

Nick, are you pronounced Suh-thl or South-all?

Mark C (Mark C), Thursday, 30 January 2003 11:39 (twenty-three years ago)

"It's just an old silk square I had lying about"

That's what they all say!

smee (smee), Thursday, 30 January 2003 11:40 (twenty-three years ago)

this is a hell of a test for ILE!

Julio Desouza (jdesouza), Thursday, 30 January 2003 11:40 (twenty-three years ago)

Mark, is that like your security thingy from when your dad took your anal cherry as a young lad?

becky lucas (becky_lucas), Thursday, 30 January 2003 11:40 (twenty-three years ago)

Nick, are you pronounced Suh-thl or South-all?
-- Mark C
practicing for you wedding night you fucktard!
Mark you are a little homo and you suck Nicks cock 24-7

becky lucas (becky_lucas), Thursday, 30 January 2003 11:42 (twenty-three years ago)

you keep feeding me tacos, that's what's gonna happen

M Matos (M Matos), Thursday, 30 January 2003 11:42 (twenty-three years ago)

South-all, Suh-thl makes me cry.

Nick Southall (Nick Southall), Thursday, 30 January 2003 11:43 (twenty-three years ago)

I would have thought it was easier to ban tunnel-cunt than to vigilantly delete its threads.

toraneko (toraneko), Thursday, 30 January 2003 11:44 (twenty-three years ago)

I don't think it is much of a test Julio, until this morning I had managed to remain ignorant of this whole thing, mainly it seems as I don't want to be clicking on dodgy sounding links at work.

And as for trolls and the like, they come, they go, it's the nature of things like this, they all get bored/boring in a relatively short period of time and go and annoy someone else.

Can we get back to talking about football now?

chris (chris), Thursday, 30 January 2003 11:45 (twenty-three years ago)

Arsenal wz robbed!

Nick Southall (Nick Southall), Thursday, 30 January 2003 11:46 (twenty-three years ago)

Yes please. Once I've told Mark C that I love his silk square and was wondering where I could get one.

Mark C! I love your silk square and I wonder where I could get one.

Lara (Lara), Thursday, 30 January 2003 11:47 (twenty-three years ago)

re: point abt ppls *responses* to Becky being better than her insults:

well precisely, and I think that if someone thinks they have the ability to do this, then they will be encouraged to spar with someone like Becky and get involve with some harmless arguments with her. But there's bound to be a point when ppl feel that a boundary has been crossed and something needs to be clamped down on. That boundary might be an increase in the offensiveness of posts or it might just be a time boundary - one is prepared to handle being insulted or slagged off for a certain period of time, but then they find they can no longer stand it.

I generally regard myself as someone who is tolerant and liberal abt remarks that might be considered offensive (for two reasons: free speech being one and that the fact that I don't think being easily offended helps anyone being the other) whilst not being offensive myself. Of course the caveat here is that it is easy to make misjudgements and say something that offends someone without realising that it would. I tried to counter Becky's remarks with ones which were thoughtful & amusing whilst not being offensive and because I enjoy a good argument I *kept* doing it. Now I realise that my responses were prolly just puerile most of the time. Maybe I need to say something on Mark C's apologies thread, which is one of the best in here in a long while and couldn't be more apposite.

When I described Becky as a genius for a term for "bottom" which made me LOL, I had no idea of the can of worms that'd be unleashed a day or two later. I'll leave it to others to say whether or not this exhibited a terrible lack of foresight.

MarkH (MarkH), Thursday, 30 January 2003 11:48 (twenty-three years ago)

well I would've just ignored her (which is what i have been doing so far) and her 'insults'. A lot of ppl are trying to engage in conversation but she won't have it and so some ppl do want to ban her.

so in that sense it is a test. we have nevah banned anyone (apart from doomie but he wanted it).

Julio Desouza (jdesouza), Thursday, 30 January 2003 11:51 (twenty-three years ago)

Arsenal were definitely robbed

Fuzzy (Fuzzy), Thursday, 30 January 2003 11:51 (twenty-three years ago)

Mark lick my hoopring, mate.
I gave you a chance to apologize to me for threatening my life.

becky lucas (becky_lucas), Thursday, 30 January 2003 11:57 (twenty-three years ago)

Can Bobby's heroes really mount a serious title challenge? I am lookin forward to the NE derby on Saturday.

N. (nickdastoor), Thursday, 30 January 2003 11:58 (twenty-three years ago)

AFC Wimbledon were caca last night. And it was cold.

Dave B (daveb), Thursday, 30 January 2003 12:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Cobh Ramblers won.

Lara (Lara), Thursday, 30 January 2003 12:03 (twenty-three years ago)

I'm looking forward to W'Ham v L'Pool on Sunday, because W'Ham may have had a boost from last nights result.

Fuzzy (Fuzzy), Thursday, 30 January 2003 12:03 (twenty-three years ago)

Heskey'll tear them apart! He had Campbell looking light a scared rabbit last night.

chris (chris), Thursday, 30 January 2003 12:05 (twenty-three years ago)

Why not merely ignore someone's comments if you don't like it? *shrug* If I don't like someone, I just try to ignore it.

nathalie (nathalie), Thursday, 30 January 2003 12:08 (twenty-three years ago)

*shrug*

Lara (Lara), Thursday, 30 January 2003 12:21 (twenty-three years ago)

I agree entirely, nathalie, but when it's about oneself and is unprovoked, it's rather harder to ignore.

Nick Southall (Nick Southall), Thursday, 30 January 2003 12:23 (twenty-three years ago)

Heh heh, you said Arsenal.

To be brutally honest, we've never had another poster who has been this homophobic, racist and sexually abusive/explicit, so no wonder we've never had to think about banning anyone who hasn't asked specifically for this to be done.

I think that makes us pretty lucky, all told.

However, I think it would be a good idea to report this person to her ISP for the reasons I am citing above. And depending on who this user turns out to be, it might also be wise to contact her employer and forward a few of her threads as they are possibly criminal in the scope of their abuse.

suzy (suzy), Thursday, 30 January 2003 12:24 (twenty-three years ago)

well in my time here this is 'the worst' I have seen but don't you think that if you wait a bit this will blow over. The abusive threads are being deleted, for instance and she seems to be having a fit of some sort and she might come down (damn, I am trying to join 12ft lizards to partcipate indiscussion whilst having lunch).

Julio Desouza (jdesouza), Thursday, 30 January 2003 12:28 (twenty-three years ago)

you said that about dp once suzy!

gareth (gareth), Thursday, 30 January 2003 12:29 (twenty-three years ago)

And you know what? It worked with DP. It was his wake-up call, and I think that was the turning point of when he realised that he was out of order and started being a reasonable human being. DP is the prime example of how to turn a destructive troll into a wonderful and contributing human being. I don't know if we can do this in this situation (even at his worst, even though DP was abusive, he was never racist, sexist or homophobic) but we can try.

kate, Thursday, 30 January 2003 12:44 (twenty-three years ago)

suzy, you were a nasty bitch to me, so just realize that one nasty bitch and another nasty bitch doesnt equal 2 nasty bitches, it just equals stupidity. To be fair you did upset me, so it was only fair to upset you back, and just because you don't like me doesn't mean you can talk all this bullshit about me, as if *i* am the only one here being nasty and rude and crude, and sexual on here, as for the sexual part, everyone talked about something sexual at one time or another, so don't you go singling me out there, and as for racist, I don't think so, My dad is half black and half french and my mother is spanish, so how on earth can i be a racist? and i remember you said something about my *english* and that only lead me to believe you read my profile and saw that i am puertorican , so I am not so sure if you are innocent of being a racist, hun, and as for homophobic, impossible, as me and my fiancee have many gay friends, and we wouldnt change them for anything in the world....you are just upset and trying to be spiteful, but whatever suzy. You know how to keep your mouth closed too.So before looking like a hypocrite just grow up and stop being a nasty person to people.

becky lucas (becky_lucas), Thursday, 30 January 2003 12:44 (twenty-three years ago)

So before looking like a hypocrite just grow up and stop being a nasty person to people.

I just wanted to quote that. That is all. OK, I'm stopping feeding the trolls now.

How about those Mets?

kate, Thursday, 30 January 2003 12:50 (twenty-three years ago)

They sure hit some wide receivers in the 3rd period.

Ed (dali), Thursday, 30 January 2003 12:52 (twenty-three years ago)

Ed, which sport are you referring to? In 10 words you've managed to invoke three different ones, none baseyball.

suzy (suzy), Thursday, 30 January 2003 13:29 (twenty-three years ago)

Me thinks Ed was joking

or he really likes boxing and american football, maybe even ice hockey.

Fuzzy (Fuzzy), Thursday, 30 January 2003 13:32 (twenty-three years ago)

throw me in the 'ban/delete the beast' pile.

James Blount (James Blount), Thursday, 30 January 2003 13:45 (twenty-three years ago)

Yeah me too.

Ronan (Ronan), Thursday, 30 January 2003 14:07 (twenty-three years ago)

You two shouldn't be so hard on yourselves!

N. (nickdastoor), Thursday, 30 January 2003 14:09 (twenty-three years ago)

that's easy for you to say, you've got many years left as a beast before deletion.

Ronan (Ronan), Thursday, 30 January 2003 14:15 (twenty-three years ago)

How about those Mets?

They are looking interesting, with the Tom Glavine and Cliff Floyd acquisitions. Still, the lack of a clubhouse leader is a problem.

felicity (felicity), Thursday, 30 January 2003 18:18 (twenty-three years ago)

If Piazza grows another one of those braided beards, that'll definitely take charge & steer the good ship Metropolitan. To 3rd place! (Ooooooooooooo.)

David R. (popshots75`), Thursday, 30 January 2003 18:24 (twenty-three years ago)

DP is the prime example of how to turn a destructive troll into a wonderful and contributing human being

Can we talk about this on private mail? Because I have my doubts...

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 30 January 2003 18:24 (twenty-three years ago)

The Mets will still finish behind the Braves, despite Atlanta's terrible offseason moves. The Phillies will fade down the stretch (it's Thome's specialty), but the NL East should be entertaining.

(Art Howe's not that great a manager and this season will make that way too obvious)

Yanc3y (ystrickler), Thursday, 30 January 2003 18:26 (twenty-three years ago)

Ned, you're being para here. I agree with Kate, and a year ago we'd have said same as you (also AMcG totally vouches for him).

suzy (suzy), Thursday, 30 January 2003 18:27 (twenty-three years ago)

Do not scorn third place. It's respectable, expecially when you have unwanted extra teams like in some divisions, not naming names!

I have tickets for Mets/Orioles in Fort Lauderdale on March 1. Who's coming with me and this goldfish?

felicity (felicity), Thursday, 30 January 2003 18:31 (twenty-three years ago)

Ned, you're being para here. I agree with Kate, and a year ago we'd have said same as you (also AMcG totally vouches for him).

Hey, if I am being overly suspicious, great! I'd love to be proved wrong. But seriously, if you or Kate or somebody could drop me a line privately -- I'm not asking for *every* detail, but I'm hardly the only one to have my doubts based on the way he carries (or carried) himself on things -- maybe not everything, I'll grant you -- even recently.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 30 January 2003 18:37 (twenty-three years ago)

Art Howe is a completely great hands-off manager - as if anyone short of Ted Turner could've bonered w/ Zito AND Hudson AND Mulder. The lefty / righty snafu w/ the Twins in the playoffs, though, cleary shows he's not much of a hands-on guy. (& watch out for those Marlins - the only thing holding 'em back is Torborg.)

Felicity, dahling, re: unwanted teams, could you, perchance, be talking about, say, THE BREWERS? Trade ya the Devil Rays for 'em. (Actually, I'll swap you Miller Park & the Seligs for Tropicana Field & a gross of oranges.)

David R. (popshots75`), Thursday, 30 January 2003 19:22 (twenty-three years ago)

The lefty / righty snafu w/ the Twins in the playoffs, though, cleary shows he's not much of a hands-on guy.

EXACTLY! The Mets need a hands-on manager. I mean, where's the leadership on that team? Billy Beane's the genius behind the A's.

The Marlins arms will falter, especially with such a horrible catcher calling the pitches (and yes I'm calling Pudge horrible).

Yanc3y (ystrickler), Thursday, 30 January 2003 19:24 (twenty-three years ago)

Your all wrong. Red Sox baby.

Chris V. (Chris V), Thursday, 30 January 2003 19:28 (twenty-three years ago)

Oh, shit, I forgot about Pudge's rep for being bad w/ pitchers. They should move him to the outfield.

Chris, can I borrow your boundless BoSox enthusiasm for a couple of hours?

David R. (popshots75`), Thursday, 30 January 2003 19:30 (twenty-three years ago)

sure. Dave, come October I'll be saying every Red Sox fans favorite phrase..."Wait til next year."

Chris V. (Chris V), Thursday, 30 January 2003 19:33 (twenty-three years ago)

Anyone should be happy to have the Brewers in their division, although they do manage to sweep the Cubs consistently. Miller Park is depressing but at least they don't have humongous wasps' nests festering under the seats, ew.

It'll be nice for Pudge to have some decent pitching to work with for a change, I guess we'll see.

With Bill James as an advisor and the hottie new GM I guess we'll see if the Curse is real.

The NL Central just has too many teams. I say put the Astros in the NL West and switch the Rockies to the AL.

I am actually getting a little excited about the White Sox, who I predict will be a sleeper for 2003. They always had the toolsy guys like Ordonez and Konerko but now they have some pitching, too.

felicity (felicity), Thursday, 30 January 2003 19:36 (twenty-three years ago)

Bartolo Colon is the size of a blimp. I'm bitter, yes I am.

Chris V. (Chris V), Thursday, 30 January 2003 19:38 (twenty-three years ago)

I like girls that know their baseball... GO Felicity!

Chris V. (Chris V), Thursday, 30 January 2003 19:38 (twenty-three years ago)

Felicity is the co-baseball queen along with Ally, I deem. We should have them run the league.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 30 January 2003 19:39 (twenty-three years ago)

It's like music, you can obsess about it. :)

felicity (felicity), Thursday, 30 January 2003 19:41 (twenty-three years ago)

I am actually getting a little excited about the White Sox, who I predict will be a sleeper for 2003. They always had the toolsy guys like Ordonez and Konerko but now they have some pitching, too.

I like the White Sox too, but I think the Foulke-Koch swap could cause them to lose some games (I'm not a Billy Believer).

Yanc3y (ystrickler), Thursday, 30 January 2003 19:41 (twenty-three years ago)

Foulke was a mess last year.

felicity (felicity), Thursday, 30 January 2003 19:44 (twenty-three years ago)

Billy Koch is great for blowing saves. Why not go with the closer by committee deal like the Red Sox. This out to work out just swell. Although I think Embree will become the full time closer soon enough. Or Chad Fox, who according to Peter Gammons may be the best free agent signing of the offseason.

Chris V. (Chris V), Thursday, 30 January 2003 19:44 (twenty-three years ago)

Foulke was great in the second half of the season though. Back in form.

Yanc3y (ystrickler), Thursday, 30 January 2003 19:45 (twenty-three years ago)

Yes, I really appreciated Foulke's work when the Sox closed in to within single digits of the Twins a couple of times towards the end of the season.

Oh well, Koch and Foulke are both foine to watch anyway, like most closers :)

felicity (felicity), Thursday, 30 January 2003 19:55 (twenty-three years ago)

I was repulsed by how repulsive Calum found fat people/women/what he desires. But I think it's obvious that people here got off on beating up on him/rendering him other, myself included. And I can think of a few regular posters who are more annoying than he is.
