Are you ever tempted to pay attention to someone knowing you dislike them just to make sure you were right in the first place?

Not people, but I do this constantly with music, film and tv. It drives all of my loved ones up the wall because I usually insist on talking about it.

sometimes. sometimes I do it to try to back up my initial dislike and sometimes to try to prove that I was wrong.

I take an interest in people that appall me, at least for a little while. I think part of it is my desire to be more open-minded. I want to see what makes people tick.

i just like to be reminded that i'm not full of irrational hatred, these people really do suck.

it usually backfires though, and i find out i'm full of irrational hatred, and i am, in fact, the one who sucks.

then i get over it, yo, and do something else.

no way. i still hate all the people i hate, even though i don't see them anymore. some for years. but i swear to god, i really fucking hate them.

That's my point, you're still paying attention to them (in your mind). Have a healthy hate. I try to turn my hate more towards smoking and this ugly brick mailbox that's near my parents house.
