conner Smedley (gsc660), Friday, 31 January 2003 23:16 (twenty-three years ago)

Akira roXor but Tetsuo is BESTEST.

Nick Southall (Nick Southall), Friday, 31 January 2003 23:20 (twenty-three years ago)

Even though Tetsuo, being live action, isn't technically Manga.

Nick Southall (Nick Southall), Friday, 31 January 2003 23:32 (twenty-three years ago)

1. Wings of Honneamise (Sakamoto's score is ACE)
2. Lupin III (once again, music is ON IT) TV series
3. Castle of Cagliostro (Lupin III full-length feature)
4. Gundam (OG tv series and first three films)
5. Akira (mostly for the bike and the music)

Akira was the first I saw and got me turned on to the genre.
Lately, my faves have been Metropolis and Sen to Chihiro no Kamikakushi (Spirited Away).

i bought this one for cheap... and it's kinda obvious why. The gore is, well, disturbing to say the least. The first time i watched it i ran up to my room, curled into a little ball in the corner and didn't come down for 17 hours.... but that's minor. The animation itself is awesome for one that was made in that time period, in comparison to most of the others... but STILL DISTURBING!!!! I wanna know how u.s. manga corps got away with rating it "suitable for most audiences". hmm... my friends at college watch this to creep out chicks at the dorm.... but that's bout all its good for. Stay away from this one unless you have a twisted, wrong mind or like useless gore...

I think they need more brutal rape scenes in these movies....hard plot to follow but if there was more rape and maybe even a violent tenticle moment...well...now you got yourselves a film.
trust me, theres not enough... la blue girl was a timid PG-13 to me...

Okay I think you all are taking it a little too far... I think it's a masterpiece because it makes you feel. Is cinema only for making one feel good? This film is art and it dosent compromise. Try watch this puppy on Xtacy then it will all make sense to you.

Curt1s Stephens, Thursday, 17 May 2007 19:17 (nineteen years ago)

The two Vampire Hunter D movies are incredible: wild psychedelic gothic imagery.

For series, I recommend Last Exile, a huge steampunk epic, featuring massive battles between Jules Verne airships crewed by soldiers in Napoleonic uniforms.
