I do appreciate that this applies to libraries. Unfortunately the 'instant hot flaming death' penalty has not been invoked.

eight months pass...
Maybe they're banning mobiles in NYC becuase the microwaves caused the planes to crash on September 11th.

Thread non-revival of the year.

As guy-with-an-acoustic-guitar, I have particular cause to dread mobile phones in concert. BUT! In San Francisco on the last tour, there was a person at stage left holding up a cell phone toward the speakers for the entire concert so that a friend who couldn't be there could hear it. I am entirely in favor of that, I think it's sweet.

My buddy has done the holding-up-his-cell-phone thing for me from two different Radiohead shows I couldn't be at in the past month or two. He's a good guy.

Giving your cell phone to the people on stage so he can talk to your friend = K corny though. Specially if its Sloan.

however, my brother handing his cell phone to Paul Westerberg to talk to me for thirty seconds after a gig last year = K Muthafuckin' Classic.

Nickalicious, you like Radiohead? But but but you're a hippy!

Mark C (Mark C), Thursday, 23 October 2003 15:06 (twenty-two years ago)

Nickalicious' hippieness notwithstanding (Jesus, did I ever think I'd start a sentence with those three words), I actually find Radiohead to be quite commensurate with hippiedom. (The vague anti-capitalist sentiments, the hushed mysticism that surrounds them ... come on!)
