in Italian?

I'm guessing "stop requested"?

What would it mean if Missy flipped it and reversed it?

It sounds nicer than "Fermented Pancietta"

Yes, it means "this bus will stop at the next stop", or, literally, "bus stop booked". Hurrah, a thread on which I can be useful!

okay cool, sometimes i ride these orange milanese streetcars around and they when you press the button this blinking sign warns "fremata prenotata".

thanks for the translation.

I ride them too; do you know why they are the noisiest cars on the F line? I asked the question of a driver once, and he said they were shipped with the wheels having too many "flats", or worn-out places where they've braked hard. This makes them noisy. I then wonder why the wheels weren't replaced, but oh well... Another reason why I'm not crazy about them is that if you happen to sit down, the wood benches are varnished so slickly that you slide down them when the car comes to a stop.

It means "holds the note as long as desired before actually playing the note". I know this 'cause I went to music school* and all.

*I dropped out.

three years pass...
In San Francisco they have the Milan Streetcars and (aside from the hard wooden benches) I love them! The noise they make when they idle is very antique and cool (bug-bug-bug-bug-bug!).

I'm glad someone else has given the real meaning. To me "Fermata Prenotata" sounds like a good drag queen name, but I didn't want to be saying something bad if I gave it to someone!! :-)
