I wish I could say something to cheer you up, but I'm not much in good shape myself now. Still, bear in mind that many of us here care, and if you want to talk, on board or by email or whatever, lots of us are here for you.

I am often envious (not sure this is the right word) of how open some people are on this board. I don't reach out for support very often but then I am very rarely touched deeply enough by troubles - for this I am grateful.

I hope you're ok Donna. Want to talk about something else? I'm preparign a workshop for Tuesday so I am in the perfect mood to be distracted.

Cheerful bits for Donna: I just bought two cute little pink cardigans & the teensiest little pink socks for my neice (not born yet, but soon) and found out her name will be Katie. I can't wait to see her.

Oh, unless you are Scottish, you will be delighted to hear that Ireland won the rugby this afternoon and there are very happy (read sozzled) rugby fans singing rebel songs across the road.

Hey Jel, how are you getting on with your no-posting-at-work endeavours? I think I've got to take decisive action too if I'm going to save enough money to jack in my job and go do something else elsewhere. Hmm.

I have managed two and a half weeks without even looking at ILX from work! And work also got a bit busier during this time, but that National Statistics website can be a bit addictive! So, yeah, it's quite good (now have to cut back on spending entire evenings on ILX! :). Good luck with finding something else! (I suppose this story is uplifting!)

Could be. I'll post if there are any developments but moves are not likely for another two months or so. I just have to stop looking at the boards during the day though. Other diversions usually keep me busy at night and if I'm on here it usually means I have study or work prep that I am avoiding doing. During the day anything seems better than work but I need that job until I find another. Or at least until I pay off my credit card bill.

I just cooked a really good stew (black-eyed peas, sweet potato, spinach, mustard greens, tomatoes, okra, etc.). Simple ingredients, simply prepared: nature is full of good things.

rainy (rainy), Sunday, 16 February 2003 23:23 (twenty-three years ago)

Hello Donna! I've twisted my ankle so I'm hobbling around like a little old lady today. And I just spent several thousand pounds on a new central heating boiler WHICH HAS PROMPTLY GONE AND BROKEN DOWN so I'm sitting here with no heating in the house and I'm freezing, and do you think I'll be able to get a heating engineer out here to look at it tomorrow? Will I buggery!

But enough of me. I hope you are managing to smile a bit at this lovely cheer-up thread. Aren't ilXorZ lovely people?

Gromit always cheers me up......
