please help finding old folk music online

I've had a random urge to listen to a song I sang in a choir a couple of years ago. After searching by the lyrics I'm fairly sure that it's a Ralph Vaughan Williams SSA arrangement of "Sweet Day." I can't find a recording of it online. It seems unlikely but does anyone have any ideas where I should look?

I am looking for two old songs that my dad used to sing when I was a young child. One is titled I'm The Boss and the other one is titled Ode To The Little Brown Shack Out Back. If you have any info as to where I can find either titles, please contact me. Thank-you for your time in this matter.

hi shiela,

at least one of the songs you're looking for is the bobby bare song, "ode to the little brown shack out back." sorry it took so long to get you an answer. google was shit back then, so i hope you understand. there's tons of songs called "i'm the boss", so idk on that one, sorry.

anyway.

in the spirit of the thread, i'm looking for something and hoping one of you lovelies would have any suggestions as to what the hell i'm talking about.

i'm looking for an early twentieth century Black folk musician who —if memory serves— accompanied his singing with an instrument of his own creation and which was only ever documented on a few recordings and was literally one of a kind. somebody played it on mumu player years ago and i made a mental note to look for it later and, well yeah, now i'm here.

Austin, you might be looking for Washington Phillips who accompanied himself on the dulceola? I don't believe he was the inventor, but it is an obscure and little-recorded instrument.
