i ask because last night i took the side of someone who was hopelessly outranked and we actually won the argument. its not something i usually do, but there was something satisfying about it...

used to wind up commie students a lot by professing a love for thatcher, w bush, the free market, patriotism, etc...

didn't really come up with any valid arguments, tho.

I play devil's advocate a LOT, mostly because it is fun and I like seeing people squirm, but it is really annoying when people do it back to me and I can't remember what I was arguing because I don't necessarily believe what I was arguing in the first place.
