Or something. Here's the deal:

The night of February 28, our own Chaki will be strutting his rock star stuff on the stage. He's playing with Books on Tape, Captain Ahab and the Durty Bombs Cheerleaders at CIA, 11334 Burbank Blvd, North Hollywood, CA, and doubtless can provide us with more details on cost, time etc.

The following day, yer invited down to my neck of the woods (again!) for a joint birthday party for myself and irregular ILX poster/very good friend Stripey. Same deal as the housewarming party, except this time I don't expect any car trouble from you people. ;-) I'll have an exact time soon, but this will probably be like last time, running from 4 pm till whenever. RSVP here or through e-mail or whatever works best...

Rah!

I'd be there, if I lived within 10 miles of it! :)

Sounds fun. That CIA place is like a funhouse, it's great. Or at least it was when I was there 3 years ago.

Arthur (Arthur), Thursday, 20 February 2003 22:43 (twenty-three years ago)

Hmmm...

Sean (Sean), Thursday, 20 February 2003 22:47 (twenty-three years ago)

25% chance I'll be out of town, otherwise, I'm all up for Chaki and Ned love.

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Thursday, 20 February 2003 22:55 (twenty-three years ago)

Who isn't?

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Thursday, 20 February 2003 23:01 (twenty-three years ago)

I might also be out of town, but if not, I will be there with bells on.

luna (luna.c), Thursday, 20 February 2003 23:16 (twenty-three years ago)

:( My parents are coming into town on the 27th (and insisting on staying in my single as opposed to cheapie hollywood motel, but i really shouldn't bitch about it), leaving on the 4th. Goddamnit. I don't even know if I can make Chaki's CIA thing now.

RENTS VS CAR TROUBLE - i pick car trouble!!! :(

Vic (Vic), Friday, 21 February 2003 06:13 (twenty-three years ago)

I think you should invite your parents to come see all your fun friends.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 21 February 2003 06:21 (twenty-three years ago)

My parents would be scared of ya'll. Actually it would be the other way around, by far. My mom is good at making Indian food though, but I don't think she'd agree towards being a portable catering service for birthday paahties (or else I would try, I really would).

I'm thinking that at least one of the nights they will be going to visit their friends in Huntington Beach, and I'll be able to make my escape. So all hope isn't lost yet. Maybe I can bring this entire middle-aged indian-people posse to crash the Raggett birthday bash. Someone should make a film of this.

Vic (Vic), Friday, 21 February 2003 06:40 (twenty-three years ago)

Uh-oh. I just realized this might clash with my mid-life crisis snowboard weekend at Mammoth. Not sure, though, it might be the weekend after.

Arthur (Arthur), Friday, 21 February 2003 08:41 (twenty-three years ago)

ok this is going to be fun even though it looks like its just gonna be me n you ned!

chaki (chaki), Friday, 21 February 2003 08:49 (twenty-three years ago)

No, we will yet make this thing fly. Somehow. :-)

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 21 February 2003 14:17 (twenty-three years ago)

No, we will yet make this thing fly.

is there any question to the man's seagullness??

lets just do this kitty-potluck thing every other weekend in march so sooner or later we all meet!!

If i'm not around here for a while, as I shouldn't be if I really want to get serious about job-hunting, someone just email me the scoop~~~

Vic (Vic), Friday, 21 February 2003 15:58 (twenty-three years ago)

Yeah, that's definitely my snowboarding weekend. Sorry, Chaki. Someday I'll make it to one of your shows. I'm DJing tomorrow night at Akbar on Sunset & Fountain if anyone wants to stop by. 9-2. I guess it gets mainly a gay male crowd, but it's very girl/straight guy friendly. They charge a $5 cover, but I think if you say you're there to see me the door guy Craig will just let you in.
