Late night talky people: Dodgy or not?

So walking back to the bus stop or the station or whatever London late at night, people always come up to me and talk and ask me directions and stuff. And it's always just pleasant conversations about where we're from and where we've been.

But I never know whether they're trying to rape me or rob my purse. Except the one time at 3am Friday night somewhere around Kings Cross when an Eastern European gentleman offered to take me home and make me dinner, cz he obviously was. So is everyone else?

dodgy. deffo.
i always want to tell them to just fuck right off, but i know it would make things worse, so i just grin and bear it. then run away.

haha do gareth or stevem rememeber the dodgy punter in stoke newington who was asking us to check out this bit of sound equipment he'd found which was around the corner, cos he wanted to know how much it was worth. "mm sure and then I'll beat myself up for you".

Ronan (Ronan), Friday, 21 February 2003 13:26 (twenty-three years ago)

yes i remember, because you started following him down that road for a few steps before realising it was not such a good idea

I don't remember that part ; ) It was a strange and outlandish way of trying to mug or con someone, what happened to traditional means.

I wonder what state of mind you must've been in to believe that he'd just FOUND this piece of electronic equipment lying around in the street.

Late night talky people = classic if they're girls or cool funny drunken people. Dud otherwise.
