This is what I've been looking for and I only recognise it now that you've discoverd it.

I'm thinking of subscribing. Should I? I'm afraid it's going to be a two-page pamphlet.

I once found a dead lizard that was longer than my arm.

Many of the photos are quite lovely, a nice spot where amateurism and selfconscious modernism (framing, distance of subject from camera, muted pallette, juxtaposition of the mundane and the absurd) dovetail.

It's my favorite web site.

The notes are all awesome. I love the recipe for love that ends P.S. YOU ARE THE SHIT.

Graham should put this up on his notice board:

best magazine ever!

jel -- (jel), Monday, 24 February 2003 17:10 (twenty-three years ago)

Definitely the best magazine ever... the guy who runs it used to live in Ann Arbor and my roommate said she thinks she knows who made the Ypsilanti All-Starz.

The note in the question reminds me of Casting The Runes by M. R. James.

caitlin (caitlin), Monday, 24 February 2003 17:20 (twenty-three years ago)

Great, now Caitlin has freaked me out beyond all measure.

It is as fat as Wired Magazine I'd say

The "Ypsilanti All-Starz" is by a guy named Tim who played in a pysch band called Cornish In A Turtleneck. There was an original 10 song tape. He later recorded an additional 10 songs and put them out on CD, with a remix by Ben Mullins (of Midwest Product). It has an All Music guide entry. It is absolutely incredible.

Its based in Portland, OR. Its great, even though the idea was stolen from the Stranger who probably stole it from someone else, etc.

The editor wrote a short story collection that is worth seeking out. I forget the name at the moment.
