jel -- (jel), Monday, 24 February 2003 14:08 (twenty-three years ago)

how many of you are John Major?

jel -- (jel), Monday, 24 February 2003 14:10 (twenty-three years ago)

Philosophy (and Maffs) - Reprazent.

Pete (Pete), Monday, 24 February 2003 14:20 (twenty-three years ago)

I already faux-reprazented on the other thread, but humanities, yo!

Mark C (Mark C), Monday, 24 February 2003 15:13 (twenty-three years ago)

I stand to be counted - Philosophy major. F!I!R!S!T!

(but had an average 2:1 in English Lit, which brought mew to 2:1 overall)

Lara (Lara), Monday, 24 February 2003 15:19 (twenty-three years ago)

Me and Michael Daddino have Liberal Arts BAs from St. John's College, about which you should read. It's weird.

Lara (Lara), Monday, 24 February 2003 15:32 (twenty-three years ago)

:(

degrees suck u r all gay

Sarah (starry), Monday, 24 February 2003 15:32 (twenty-three years ago)

I did think that those who do not have degrees might feel somewhat left out of this Monday thread madness. It occurred to me that I could start one but I thought this insanity might have reached crisis point already.

Lara (Lara), Monday, 24 February 2003 15:35 (twenty-three years ago)

I would have got a first for Philosophy had I not written an exam essay about how I'd rather be outside than sitting the exam.

Nick Southall (Nick Southall), Monday, 24 February 2003 15:36 (twenty-three years ago)

the correct essay wz "if it is then this is an answer", nick

mark s (mark s), Monday, 24 February 2003 15:37 (twenty-three years ago)

I am clever because I am not going to post that on *all* the silly degree threads.

Sarah (starry), Monday, 24 February 2003 15:38 (twenty-three years ago)

I have a degree in, ergh, American Studies.

hstencil, Monday, 24 February 2003 16:08 (twenty-three years ago)

I came up with the secret of universal truth, beauty and happiness in my finals - it came to me like a flash. But the philospher who marked it failed me cos he knew I would put them out of business.

I would have put them out of business too if the answer hadn't been something to do with embracing forgetfulness - or something like that.

Pete (Pete), Monday, 24 February 2003 16:46 (twenty-three years ago)

are gender studies and music humantities?

di smith (lucylurex), Monday, 24 February 2003 22:27 (twenty-three years ago)

could be!

Music is probably classified as Arts. But I think arts and humanities get lumped together often.

jel -- (jel), Monday, 24 February 2003 22:29 (twenty-three years ago)

Gender Studies is social science.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Monday, 24 February 2003 22:45 (twenty-three years ago)

I knows about St. John's. I applied there even.

Mary (Mary), Monday, 24 February 2003 22:56 (twenty-three years ago)

I have a 1st in History of Art. People therefore might imagine that I flounce around like Brian Sewell and have a fine taste in cravats. This though is not the case...

In fact after having realised the non-vocational (do not read useless) nature of my degree, I did an MSc in Computer Science which was quite useful really.

bert, Monday, 24 February 2003 22:57 (twenty-three years ago)

What is the point of a degree in History Of Art if you don't get to wear a cravat and flounce?

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Monday, 24 February 2003 23:01 (twenty-three years ago)

You can do that on your own.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 24 February 2003 23:02 (twenty-three years ago)

Well I think the 90 girls to 5 boys ratio was quite appealing at the time.

bert, Monday, 24 February 2003 23:04 (twenty-three years ago)

Also, much as I love Brian Sewell, surely there is only room in the world for one of him?

bert, Monday, 24 February 2003 23:08 (twenty-three years ago)

Fuck, I'm supposed to wear a cravat?

rosemary (rosemary), Tuesday, 25 February 2003 04:29 (twenty-three years ago)

B.A. in History.

Amateurist (amateurist), Tuesday, 25 February 2003 04:34 (twenty-three years ago)
