I don't have any pictures on my walls and its been a few monthes now. I want to find my poster of a dead bunny that was used on posters for Julie Doiron and the Wooden Stars as seen on the back cover. What pictures/art works/prints/not movie posters are hanging from your walls?
I need to do something before I get stupid florescent, government issue triangles on the wall.

maps of Chicago, New York's subways, Seville and Barcelona are on my walls, along with a NNCK Orthodox Easter show flier, a promo poster for Angus MacLise's Invasion of Thunderbolt Pagoda, my old Illinois license plate, a calendar of photographs of Kentucky, a Steve Keene painting of Zachary Taylor, Ted Williams's autographed (framed), a Ghost concert poster (from last October at the Empty Bottle), and a promo poster for Joseph Jarman's As If It Was The Seasons.

Zachary Taylor, what a great president, general and all round figurehead. My favorite president for personal reasons. And neither of us likes cream.

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Tuesday, 25 February 2003 15:21 (twenty-three years ago)

He's buried not too far from my parents' house.

hstencil, Tuesday, 25 February 2003 15:30 (twenty-three years ago)

Wasn't he president for about 10 minutes? Or am I getting confused again?

Ol' Zach didn't last too long after the inaugeration being sworn in, either. I think it was the bowl of cherries, right?

Now I can't stop humming that Echo song.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 25 February 2003 15:50 (twenty-three years ago)

There's an Echo song about Zachary Taylor?

hstencil, Tuesday, 25 February 2003 16:01 (twenty-three years ago)

Astounding!

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 25 February 2003 16:01 (twenty-three years ago)

Cherries and cream, recently exhumed to test a theory that he was poisoned. He wasn't but it would have made him the first assassinated president. I think he made it into July but can't be assed to look it up.

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Tuesday, 25 February 2003 16:01 (twenty-three years ago)

Please please let there be one about Zachary Taylor, PLEASE!

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Tuesday, 25 February 2003 16:02 (twenty-three years ago)

"Taylor, on the bedspread
Moving through you in a dream
Rolling around with the freaks and clowns
Feeling the passion of steam."

*ringing Will Sergant solo*

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 25 February 2003 16:04 (twenty-three years ago)

You sure that's about Zachary Taylor? What song is that anyway?

hstencil, Tuesday, 25 February 2003 16:11 (twenty-three years ago)

"Presidential Aura" -- it's the B-side to the Yugoslavian-only fan club single from 1985, "Dreaming Vision Blue"

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 25 February 2003 16:12 (twenty-three years ago)

Now that's obscure! I just have Heaven Up Here and Ocean Rain.

What's on your walls, Ned? Pictures of seagulls?

hstencil, Tuesday, 25 February 2003 16:16 (twenty-three years ago)

Hstencil, please keep in mind I could be pulling your leg. ;-)

At work right now I have huge Suede posters up. Besides being aesthetically pleasing Peter Saville designs, they block out the sunlight.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 25 February 2003 16:20 (twenty-three years ago)

Ned, you big joker.

Wall items at work: Martha Stewart Halloween mask, xmas card from parents, application for citizenship in the Kingdoms of Elgaland-Vargaland, bronze horseshoe from brother's rehearsal dinner, postcard of detail from Brueghel the Elder's The Triumph of Death (so work appropriate!), more xmas cards from co-employees and friends, "In Kentucky" postcard from Brett Ralph, postcards of Montserrat in Spain, another postcard of The Triumph of Death, trail map of Mt. Bachelor in Oregon, magazine article on friends' band Company.

two years pass...
Poor Zach Taylor. The one president who died in office who wasn't elected in a year ending with zero.

The "recent" exhumation took place in 1991. The best memory I have of that week was Larry "Bud" Melman on the NBC Letterman show, dressed in a frock and wig, eating cherry ice cream before keeling over.
