Okay so the DM nite at Siberia has a few kinks to work out. The DJing is done from a Mac, hello itunes! and the sound was very uneven. To make matters worse, every time the DJ got the crowd really excited with some iconic DM song, it would play a few bars and then go silent, only to start from the beginning a bit later. Other bands included: Siouxie, OMD, the Cure (lessons learned: that band clears a dance floor), Duran Duran, etc, "This Charming Man" was the sole Smiths tune. Then! We were in the basement, around 11 pm comes on some punkrockish cover band playing upstairs, and their sound was totally warring with the DM sound. The dancers carried on valiantly though. Andy snagged me an Exciter poster. Some great reward.
