Wanting something, and being told there's a high possibility you'll get it but you won't know for SURE yet and there needs to be an avenue kept open for it to be RIPPED AWAY in the meanwhile...does this actually make anyone feel better?

Hmmm... I try not to get my hopes up too much because I've gotten tired of being dissapointed. This happens all the times with shows though. I set one up with bands I really like, then someone gets sick or their van breaks down or the club is overbooked and someone can't play... I'm playing with some pretty cool bands tonight and I'm still not getting too excited. It's snowing like mad and I'm kind of worried that less people will show up. But also, I realize I worry and stress out WAY TOO MUCH.

Maria, You should be happy about your college acceptance letter, even if it seems a little odd. Why not call them up and ask about it?

It's NOT an acceptance letter, that's the point. I called and they said "oh you'll probably get in but don't withdraw your other applications." GRRR!

Hmmm, sorry for being flippant earlier - hope it goes well for you Maria. Still, I _am_ an optimist and I would take it as encouraging if it happened to me - at least it's not a No. They'r eprob. sending it out in case you accept another college and if they weren't keen on you, they prob. wouldn't have bothered...

This is awful. I currently almost certainly have a new nice flat but I still keep expecting things to go wrong. And today my boss suggested that I would be given a promotion, but still I don't quite believe things will happen somehow. Aaargh!
