Yes, the wife and I have been trying. She says she is feeling different and is late on her monthly bill. So tomorrow we take a test and find out! I'm nervous as hell, we really hope its good news (as in we'll be parents.) Wish me luck! Little McGee's.

Chris V. (Chris V), Friday, 7 March 2003 15:36 (twenty-three years ago)

Good luck! You'll really have a poops mcgee then! And I guess that'd make you pops mcgee!

hstencil, Friday, 7 March 2003 15:38 (twenty-three years ago)

That is so brilliant. Let's hope it's all positive!!!

This is ridiculously exciting!

Lara (Lara), Friday, 7 March 2003 15:39 (twenty-three years ago)

Good luck, dude! WOW.

I feel like I should be a father.

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Friday, 7 March 2003 15:40 (twenty-three years ago)

I could just see Dan terorizing kids with his "THE TALK".

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Friday, 7 March 2003 15:41 (twenty-three years ago)

aw...dan is getting paternal instincts.

good luck chris.

Julio Desouza (jdesouza), Friday, 7 March 2003 15:42 (twenty-three years ago)

oh and Good luck popsmcgee.

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Friday, 7 March 2003 15:42 (twenty-three years ago)

But when would Dan _not_ be doing THE TALK?

Good luck, sir. Being a dad is the roxxors. Mostly.

Matt Maxwell (Matt M.), Friday, 7 March 2003 15:43 (twenty-three years ago)

Good luck.

sundar subramanian (sundar), Friday, 7 March 2003 15:43 (twenty-three years ago)

Grebt! Fingers Xed

Tom (Groke), Friday, 7 March 2003 15:44 (twenty-three years ago)

Hella cool! With any luck, tomorrow I'll be welcoming ya to the (daddy's) club!

(PS, I think you'd make a great father; a sense of humor such as your own is KEY.)

nickalicious (nickalicious), Friday, 7 March 2003 15:45 (twenty-three years ago)

There are so many other people I want to posts threads like this.

Graham (graham), Friday, 7 March 2003 15:49 (twenty-three years ago)

And not me Graham?

Chris V. (Chris V), Friday, 7 March 2003 15:50 (twenty-three years ago)

Ha ha! Daddy V for the jugular!

Lara (Lara), Friday, 7 March 2003 15:50 (twenty-three years ago)

Oh yes. Congratulations!

Graham (graham), Friday, 7 March 2003 15:53 (twenty-three years ago)

The Photoshopping possibilities are endless! Good luck Chris!

mark p (Mark P), Friday, 7 March 2003 15:54 (twenty-three years ago)

Thanks!

Chris V. (Chris V), Friday, 7 March 2003 15:55 (twenty-three years ago)

Yay, good luck!

Nicole (Nicole), Friday, 7 March 2003 15:56 (twenty-three years ago)

The talk, I remember my talk with my father, when i wa 12. On the golf course...extremely embarassing. "So son, do you get aroused when you see girls." I was like "end it now."

Chris V. (Chris V), Friday, 7 March 2003 15:56 (twenty-three years ago)

My father's talk to me: "Son, when a girl says 'no', she means it." Gee, thanks for the show of faith, Dad (although I did appreciate that he knew I'd figured out the mechanics on my own).

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Friday, 7 March 2003 16:01 (twenty-three years ago)

I never had that talk. Figures. We did watch a PBS show on Oscar Wilde once, though.

Anyway, excellent, Chris, best of luck!

Arthur (Arthur), Friday, 7 March 2003 16:03 (twenty-three years ago)

I also remember my dads advice when I was older and in college. "Ya wear condoms when ya fuck?" Again "end it, Dad."

Chris V. (Chris V), Friday, 7 March 2003 16:05 (twenty-three years ago)

Good luck! Although I was hoping this would be a thread about going on Trisha

j0e (j0e), Friday, 7 March 2003 16:08 (twenty-three years ago)

ILX is my baby's daddy.

Nicole (Nicole), Friday, 7 March 2003 16:10 (twenty-three years ago)

I never had THE TALK either!

Tom (Groke), Friday, 7 March 2003 16:12 (twenty-three years ago)

ILX is my baby's daddy.

One hell of a honeymoon.

The talk -- combination of sex ed films at school and some choice and most helpful books from my parents (The Teenage Body Book, stuff like that -- informative and non-patronizing, thank fuck) meant no need for that. Rah.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 7 March 2003 16:20 (twenty-three years ago)

(And oh yeah, yay Chris! :-))

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 7 March 2003 16:20 (twenty-three years ago)

Good luck Chris and Mrs. Chris!

rosemary (rosemary), Friday, 7 March 2003 16:33 (twenty-three years ago)

If we are pregnant, I will be strapping headphones to my wifes belly tomorrow.

Chris V. (Chris V), Friday, 7 March 2003 17:16 (twenty-three years ago)

Make sure you don't start playing Belle and Sebastian or some such as the child will be emotionally warped if you do.

Lara (Lara), Friday, 7 March 2003 17:17 (twenty-three years ago)

Heed Lara's wise words.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 7 March 2003 17:26 (twenty-three years ago)

I plan on playing Simon and Garfunkel....

Chris V. (Chris V), Friday, 7 March 2003 17:27 (twenty-three years ago)

That would be nice and melodic - I remember Bridge Over Troubled Water from when I was very small.

Lara (Lara), Friday, 7 March 2003 17:28 (twenty-three years ago)

and then following it up with Kings Of Convenience....kill me now. But, they're daddy's favorite.

Chris V. (Chris V), Friday, 7 March 2003 17:32 (twenty-three years ago)

excellent! I hope the news is good! We should have a name Chris V's baby thread!

jel -- (jel), Friday, 7 March 2003 17:52 (twenty-three years ago)

Yay, Chris V! If it turns out she isn't preggo yet, look on the bright side - lots more trying (*cough cough*) ahead!

Sarah McLUsky (coco), Friday, 7 March 2003 17:53 (twenty-three years ago)

More Adam Ant. And sure we can play a fun game of name Chris V's baby.

Chris V. (Chris V), Friday, 7 March 2003 17:53 (twenty-three years ago)

Sarah = OTM. This is very good (hopefully) news, Chris. Get 'em playing hockey as soon as possible!

Bryan (Bryan), Friday, 7 March 2003 17:54 (twenty-three years ago)

They be playing hockey as soon as they can walk, much to the dismay of my wife. Who doesn't want her kids to be missing teeth and have broken noses like dad. Im still cute though.

Chris V. (Chris V), Friday, 7 March 2003 17:56 (twenty-three years ago)

congratulations chris!

Aaron Grossman (aajjgg), Friday, 7 March 2003 18:15 (twenty-three years ago)

here's hoping for the best Chris! Two things: one - doesn't matter if their baby teeth get knocked out as new ones grow in eventually anyway, right? Also, if you want to score pregnancy points (and let me assure you, you'll need a lot of them), buy a copy of "what to expect when you're expecting" for her - it's a pretty good guide for pregnant women (helped me a lot anyway) and you'll come off looking all thoughtful 'n shit.

luna (luna.c), Friday, 7 March 2003 18:17 (twenty-three years ago)

Im down with that Luna.

Chris V. (Chris V), Friday, 7 March 2003 18:43 (twenty-three years ago)

You will play this potential child lots of Force MDs while it's in its mommy's womb, yes?

Andy K (Andy K), Friday, 7 March 2003 19:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Kid will be one SMOOVE mofo.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 7 March 2003 19:02 (twenty-three years ago)

Man, that kid is gonna be SO much cooler than me...

Sarah McLusky (coco), Friday, 7 March 2003 19:03 (twenty-three years ago)

Advice from a junior member of the Daddy Club...

Chris, when your wife says she needs [insert normal food item here] and [insert "WTF?" inspiring absurd food item here] at 3 AM, GO AND GET IT.

nickalicious (nickalicious), Friday, 7 March 2003 19:06 (twenty-three years ago)

She asked me today if she could get McDonalds tomorrow? Is it already starting. Oh yes, lots of Force Md's.

Chris V. (Chris V), Friday, 7 March 2003 19:17 (twenty-three years ago)

I think you should skip trying to teach your kid to talk and teach him/her to rap instead. Wouldn't that be cute?

Sarah MCLusky (coco), Friday, 7 March 2003 19:19 (twenty-three years ago)

Skip the alphabet song and go straight to "Gimme The Night".

nickalicious (nickalicious), Friday, 7 March 2003 19:20 (twenty-three years ago)

I'll teach him/her the running man. Look honey, he/she is doing her first running man...awww how cute. Thats what my Dad did with me nickalicious, it was all Teddy Pendergrass and George Benson when I was growing up.

Chris V. (Chris V), Friday, 7 March 2003 19:24 (twenty-three years ago)

Teach them to wave gold medallions would be a useful.

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Friday, 7 March 2003 19:24 (twenty-three years ago)

Damn, Sarah beat me to the line I was going to take. Good luck anyway, but do remember a "no" will only mean "not just yet".

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Friday, 7 March 2003 20:12 (twenty-three years ago)

"I'm li'l Poops McGee & I'm here to say / I need a new diaper in the biggest way / I poop to the left, I poop to the right / I poop on your head just like Dolomite"

David R. (popshots75`), Saturday, 8 March 2003 21:15 (twenty-three years ago)

but do remember a "no" will only mean "not just yet"

Martin gives away all his secrets.

Graham (graham), Saturday, 8 March 2003 21:18 (twenty-three years ago)

In my case childlessness is a permanent condition - I had a vasectomy years ago.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Saturday, 8 March 2003 21:27 (twenty-three years ago)

They can stitch it back on, Martin. I mean even if they can't find your old one I'm sure you could buy a fresh one.

Cozen (Cozen), Saturday, 8 March 2003 21:41 (twenty-three years ago)

There isn't anything to stitch back on, as they don't remove anything - but they can reconnect the tubes. Apparently it's successful in about 50% of cases. However, I don't want it done - if I'd had any doubt, I wouldn't have got it done in the first place.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Saturday, 8 March 2003 21:56 (twenty-three years ago)

Unfortunately, we were wrong! Blah. Oh well, like people said above, we'll just have to keep trying. ;)

Chris V. (Chris V), Sunday, 9 March 2003 13:28 (twenty-three years ago)

My sympathies, Chris. As I said, it's only a 'not yet'.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Sunday, 9 March 2003 18:19 (twenty-three years ago)

Better luck next time! ;)

Lara (Lara), Sunday, 9 March 2003 18:59 (twenty-three years ago)

yeah, good luck chris and mrs chris.

di smith (lucylurex), Sunday, 9 March 2003 20:49 (twenty-three years ago)

might be good news actually...get a bit more practice in before the pregnancy. sex during pregnancy is fine, but after birth you're gonna be a bit deprived.
