i have my faded dark blue MOOG t-shirt on today - i like to think when people see me they think 'hey that guy digs Moogs, he's cool'

what you got?

stevem (blueski), Monday, 10 March 2003 14:56 (twenty-three years ago)

A disintegrating rubix cube.

Ed (dali), Monday, 10 March 2003 14:58 (twenty-three years ago)

a shark advertising florida (v.faded)

on the back near the shoulder is a little lighthouse and clouds which i think looks like an ejaculating penis but i don't have to look at it, so meh

anyway i am wearing a jumper

mark s (mark s), Monday, 10 March 2003 15:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Steve - I've got that Moog t-shirt, and unfortunately it does no such thing. The positioning of the letters, however, does make it look like I'm beginning to grow breasts.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Monday, 10 March 2003 15:00 (twenty-three years ago)

i was at a party in Brighton ages ago and this guy in an 'Electribe 101' t-shirt accosted me and demanded to know where i'd got my Moog t-shirt - but they were everywhere at this point so he obviously didnt get out much.

stevem (blueski), Monday, 10 March 2003 15:03 (twenty-three years ago)

It's a plain pale red one.

Sarah (starry), Monday, 10 March 2003 15:04 (twenty-three years ago)

mine is white with nothing on it. no logo! ;-)

Aaron Grossman (aajjgg), Monday, 10 March 2003 15:05 (twenty-three years ago)

a gold print t-rex with the words "natural history" emblazoned across the top in suitably academic script

jess (dubplatestyle), Monday, 10 March 2003 15:06 (twenty-three years ago)

logos rool

stevem (blueski), Monday, 10 March 2003 15:06 (twenty-three years ago)

Ooohhhh I want to steal Jess' t-shirt. Mine has a faded green Adidas logo with green ringers.

Aaron W (Aaron W), Monday, 10 March 2003 15:09 (twenty-three years ago)

I have a plain white t-shirt on under my work clothes. Exciting.

Nick A. (Nick A.), Monday, 10 March 2003 15:12 (twenty-three years ago)

Same as Nick A. Yesterday I wore a longsleeve Aphex Twin "Come to Daddy" t-shirt, tho.

hstencil, Monday, 10 March 2003 15:23 (twenty-three years ago)

ATP 2002. I have some great T-Shirts, and then I have some music T-shirts.

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Monday, 10 March 2003 15:28 (twenty-three years ago)

I always think people with Moog shirts are cool and I am always dead jealous. I am wearing a sandy t-shirt with a helicopter and the word 'veteran' on it. Plus baggy Carhartt crapenters jeans & black-rimmed pecs & messy hair & pens in back pocket = urban industrial soldier geek chic.

Nick Southall (Nick Southall), Monday, 10 March 2003 15:30 (twenty-three years ago)

I am wearing a black Low t-shirt. (underneath my grey with red and white stripes shirt)

jel -- (jel), Monday, 10 March 2003 15:31 (twenty-three years ago)

On my t-shirt is a little label with washing instructions and the mysterious non-word "2xist".

Colin Meeder (Mert), Monday, 10 March 2003 15:39 (twenty-three years ago)

I just woke up and I have no shirt on.

A Nairn (moretap), Monday, 10 March 2003 15:48 (twenty-three years ago)

faded dark blue too,
on the front, left side, there's in white & rather small'n'modest lettering "KLASSIKARAADIO", and on the right sleeve 't has the capitals "ER" ...but wot the fk is the medium size logo on the back meant to stand for, that has puzzled me for nigh three years now

t\'\'t (t\'\'t), Monday, 10 March 2003 15:56 (twenty-three years ago)

Suede Sci-Fi Lullabies shirt. Yay.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 10 March 2003 15:57 (twenty-three years ago)

Mine's a bright yellow shirt with the Denny's logo.

Sean Carruthers (SeanC), Monday, 10 March 2003 16:06 (twenty-three years ago)

Nothing on it. It's plain black.

I bet everyone knew that already. :)

ChristineSH (chrissie1068), Monday, 10 March 2003 16:07 (twenty-three years ago)

Am I being too militant by only owning blank t-shirts? i lament the way in which every surface has been turned into an advertisment, and tend not to be someone to complain about something and propagate it at the same time, but on the other hand, I don't hate fun.

Aaron Grossman (aajjgg), Monday, 10 March 2003 16:09 (twenty-three years ago)

The only non-blank t-shirts I own are band t-shirts. I don't mind advertising for bands that I like, but otherwise, I'm with you, Aaron.

Nick A. (Nick A.), Monday, 10 March 2003 16:15 (twenty-three years ago)

Black t-shirt with "Dabney!" written across the chest in big blue letters.

Arthur (Arthur), Monday, 10 March 2003 16:19 (twenty-three years ago)

i saw a woman yesterday (in bermondsey) in a print silk skirt, black and white, with what appeared to by michael jackson's face very large, on the front of it

mark s (mark s), Monday, 10 March 2003 16:19 (twenty-three years ago)

I am more than happy to advertise Carhartt because their clothes appear to last forever and that is good.

Nick Southall (Nick Southall), Monday, 10 March 2003 16:26 (twenty-three years ago)

I love that Carhartt shade of brown. I'm so glad they have non-painters pants/non-overalls now.

Arthur (Arthur), Monday, 10 March 2003 16:45 (twenty-three years ago)

today i am wearing me shirt with a bleeding heart on it.

todd swiss (eliti), Monday, 10 March 2003 18:08 (twenty-three years ago)

I'm wearing a PNC Bank "The Thinking Behind the Money" t-shirt underneath my sweater. It was my christmas bonus 4 years ago. Fucking awesome!

Chris V. (Chris V), Monday, 10 March 2003 18:12 (twenty-three years ago)

boys in Moog t-shirts are ALWAYS cute.

i got my Slumber Party t-shirt on.

phil-two (phil-two), Monday, 10 March 2003 18:14 (twenty-three years ago)

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Monday, 10 March 2003 18:16 (twenty-three years ago)

OH! MY GOD! I MISS YOU.

yoshitomo nara picture of a girl looking sassily sidelong/backwards.

gygax! (gygax!), Monday, 10 March 2003 18:29 (twenty-three years ago)

Mine is black and has nothing on it. It comes from home of k-cheap clothes THE OFFICERS CLUB.

Tom (Groke), Monday, 10 March 2003 18:32 (twenty-three years ago)

so THAT's why Dom wants to kill all goths

mine says Radio FMLN - "Una Voz Para Vencer"; it's hidden under a white collar shirt and a black silk tie

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Monday, 10 March 2003 18:40 (twenty-three years ago)

The tie is to deflect suspicions that I am a miserably lazy no-account

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Monday, 10 March 2003 18:49 (twenty-three years ago)

PUMA

Lithium Lunchbox (Lithium Lunchbox), Monday, 10 March 2003 19:16 (twenty-three years ago)

I need to find a job where I can wear t-shirts again.

hstencil, Monday, 10 March 2003 19:18 (twenty-three years ago)

why can't you wear one now?

gygax! (gygax!), Monday, 10 March 2003 19:19 (twenty-three years ago)

No, I'm wearing a blue sweater that's way too tight. I think I'll change before other humans lay eyes on me.

Kim (Kim), Monday, 10 March 2003 19:22 (twenty-three years ago)

gygax! because I work in a building with the most expensive commercial real estate in Manhattan?

phwoar donna

mark s (mark s), Monday, 10 March 2003 19:24 (twenty-three years ago)

h(ot)-dawg,
what does that have to do with your ability to wear an undershirt?

gygax! (gygax!), Monday, 10 March 2003 19:25 (twenty-three years ago)

gygax! I think I mentioned upthread that I am wearing an undershirt, a white blank one. Since I'm wearing a white cotton oxford shirt over it, I can't wear a fun t-shirt with colors and writings and fun stuff on it. I'd like to wear just a t-shirt to work sometime too, but that's not kosher either. Fuck I hate my job sometimes.

hstencil, Monday, 10 March 2003 19:28 (twenty-three years ago)

aha... well i'm wearing an red/beige plaid short sleeve western shirt over my tee.

but i will be taking off my overshirt for lunch because it is an absolutely stunning winter day and i'm gonna walk into chinatown and get some dim sum.

i remember the suit/tie days and i'm v.glad that those days are long gone thank you v. much!!

gygax! (gygax!), Monday, 10 March 2003 19:35 (twenty-three years ago)

ha! gygax! can you get me a job?

urgh.

hstencil, Monday, 10 March 2003 19:38 (twenty-three years ago)

A mustard stain.

gygax! (gygax!), Monday, 10 March 2003 19:42 (twenty-three years ago)

gygax! when I move to a place, that's when you know it's over (i.e. Chicago in 1998, NYC in 2002, etc.).

Blue, has an green cat, with a toothy, open smile, and a wee fish in the mouth. The fish is smiling also, oddly. Mr. Kitty has a very styling curly red tail on him. ;-)

I wear this one all the time in Nov & Dec, it echos how I feel- I am the fishy, trying to smile & be in a holiday spirit while Evil Job swallows me whole. (I am going in to work in a few minutes, and I have too much xmas shopping to finish, arrggh!)

lyra (lyra), Saturday, 20 December 2003 18:34 (twenty-two years ago)

a black rolling stones shirt

J.D. (Justyn Dillingham), Sunday, 16 October 2005 09:06 (twenty years ago)

I seem to have abandoned t-shirts without consciously realising it. It never occurs to me to buy anything except a 'proper' shirt these days.

Bob Six (bobbysix), Sunday, 16 October 2005 09:08 (twenty years ago)

i am wearing a plain long-sleeve red shirt. i don't wear t-shirts that much, unless i can find them in the "girl" cut.

astor riviera (Jody Beth Rosen), Sunday, 16 October 2005 09:11 (twenty years ago)

basic rule: I don't leave the house in T-shirts w/writing on 'em. solid colors, esp. white are my preference in public.

now wearing last nite's sleep shirt: black w/Keith Haring drawing of DJ dawg spinning on two turntables, one of my all-time favorites.

m coleman (lovebug starski), Sunday, 16 October 2005 11:13 (twenty years ago)

DKNY black stretch T-shirt. There's this plasticky label on the bottom with hte logo. Because I'm pregnant, it's the only old one that fits.

Uncle Gabby, Drinky Crow and a running liquor bottle.

William Paper Scissors (Rock Hardy), Sunday, 16 October 2005 13:37 (twenty years ago)

Monet

This is a T-shirt I sleep in. I originally got it while work a summer job hawking Acoustiguide at the Philadelphia Museum of Art (great summer job!). I've had it for about 20 years. I'm not sure how that's even possible.

I only have a few shirts still that say anything on them. One says "Classic Grandpa" in Coca-Cola Classic lettering. One says Hua Xia and has chinese characters (presumably the characters for Hua Xia, whatever that is), and one says "Tunes" which is a record store near me.

What's the etiquette with that? Presumably, it has to be a RS shirt relating to anything but the current 'Big Bang' album?

(Because that would be like - for those who go in for such things - wearing a Hard Rock Cafe London t-shirt in London)

Bob Six (bobbysix), Monday, 17 October 2005 06:07 (twenty years ago)

I own way too many of those kinds of shirts.

i'm wearing a pea-green v-neck t-shirt today. nothing on it.

astor riviera (Jody Beth Rosen), Monday, 17 October 2005 09:33 (twenty years ago)

lotta hyphens in that last post

astor riviera (Jody Beth Rosen), Monday, 17 October 2005 09:33 (twenty years ago)

I really don't like t-shirts with pictures or big logos because they seem to define your identity through some (mass-)marketed product, whereas shirts with more abstract patterns and colours feel like they leave more room to express yourself. The last occasion when I wore a t-shirt that clearly advertised something was a Sandman shirt as a teenager, though most of the people who commented it seemed to think it was a heavy metal t-shirt or something.

Tuomas (Tuomas), Monday, 17 October 2005 10:04 (twenty years ago)

Plain baby blue round-necked t-shirt with very fine ribbing. I look swell.

Markelby (Mark C), Monday, 17 October 2005 10:08 (twenty years ago)

dark blue Paul Frank t-shirt featuring the fronts of 3 cartoon tram cars. underneath it says something like 'another stupid american' in japanese. inherited from ex.

but, like tuomas, i'm moving away from t-shirts with things on them. current favourite is the new chocolate brown thing that was £4 from primark.

koogs (koogs), Monday, 17 October 2005 10:50 (twenty years ago)

I think no-logo t-shirts or *plain* t-shirts also define the wearer. Bland. Just kidding. *shrug* It's just a t-shirt, it's not as if someone will really attribute a trait or think I'm whatever based on what t-shirt I'm wearing. If so, I'd think he's still 15 yrs old. I think it's a bit ridiculous, like judging someone based on his record collection.

nathalie, a bum like you (stevie nixed), Monday, 17 October 2005 10:53 (twenty years ago)

white t-shirt with a basquiat print/scrawled design on it.

x-post Precisely. Lighten up and have some fun with fashion! No one's going to remember it in even two minutes time once they've passed you in the street. Unless it's something quite outrageous. Don't judge a book by it's cover. Or a cover by it's book.

salexander / sophie (salexander), Monday, 17 October 2005 11:01 (twenty years ago)
